Healing wounds
August 2012
Modern living is complex. We are burdened by expectations from ourselves as well as society. No wonder we stumble, fall, fail, develop self-doubt and begin to suffer from emotional and mental problems.

Neha Patel: a healing sanctuary Thankfully this very need is giving rise to healing centres such as Sharnam Therapy and Healing Centre, where clients can explore a range of therapies. “The idea behind Sharnam is to provide easy access to effective tools for emotional and mental well-being and inner evolution,” says founder, Neha Patel, a certified psychologist, hypnotherapist and EFT practitioner. From mainstream psychotherapy to energy psychology tools, hypnosis-based systems to meditation techniques, the distressed patient can access it all.
Sharnam has a team of therapists and healers who bring their own expertise to help children or adults, individuals or groups. The processes of counselling and psychotherapy focus on enhancing the psychological well-being of the client. Ajay, a 17-year-old boy who was traumatised by parental pressure to study and excel in a subject he was not fond of, was able to regain self-belief after he was counselled by Neha at Sharanam. 'My mother understands me much better now,' he beams. Neha firmly believes in being non-judgmental and feels that each person is subconsciously aware of their life purpose and their reason for existence. “We help them uncover and peel off the layers of conditioning and self-doubt, to reach their core and understand and experience their highest potential,” she explains.
Apart from that she also holds a well-being circle which is a free session every Friday. Her clients come, share, meditate, seek guidance, help and heal in a most friendly and freewheeling manner. Recently, she co-hosted a Louise L Hay workshop with healer Nancy Jade Althea and helped participants come to terms with traumas and deep emotional wounds suffered through the hands of their loved ones. Many wept, but left the two-day workshop feeling lighter, happier and more optimistic.
