Intentional living

Dear Reader,

Most of us have a vision of our ideal life, career, and soulmate. Locked in our hearts are millions of dreams that we would like to achieve. And spiritual literature gives wings to our longing by reminding us that we are infinite beings with limitless potential. And yet there is still a gulf between dream and manifestation. Maybe we are still working at the job we hate, our family life is still not ideal, we still have tyres around our midriff that refuse to melt, and that foreign holiday just never seems to happen.

Our cover story on intentional living looks at the reason why there is such a time gap between what we want and what we get, and offers an eight-step process to help you bridge it. The point it makes is that as long as we live unconsciously, there will be too much static in our minds to enable us to attract what we want. The story offers you a plethora of exercises that revolve around increasing our awareness and attracting our goals.

Autism is becoming an increasing reality of our lives. More and more children are being diagnosed with this condition, which is an ordeal both for the child and the family it is born into. Here we look at the nature of the condition, its spiritual dimensions, and the alternative approaches that can spell hope for the child.

We have one more major article in this issue looking at the concept of non-attachment. What is non-attachment? Is it indifference to everything around us, or is it its polar opposite – a freedom from all craving and attachment? How does the non-attached person manage her daily affairs? And what is her state of mind? Associate editor, Shivi Verma, writes a powerful and experiential piece on this coveted state of being.

Have a wonderful May.
