EDIT SPEAK
A time to come together
Dear Reader,
Though the current new wave of the killer pandemic seems like a shock to us, I had written in my previous editorial that Nature was poised to become unrelenting in its attitude towards human beings.
I remember my guru telling me in my last meeting with him that in 2020, the universal energies had hoped that the coronavirus would make humans forget their differences and act as one, but they were disappointed to see that it did not happen. He had also said that the Divine becomes strict with Her children only as the last resort when, despite repeated reminders to awaken and change their ways, they stubbornly refuse to listen.
Though it’s heartbreaking to see lives being lost on a massive scale, let it awaken us to the fact that our mortality is very real and that the most precious thing we have is our loved ones. Let us stop taking our near and dear ones for granted and realise their specialness, their unique place and contribution in our lives.
This is also the time to intensify our prayers, be ready to help others, and be as stable and calm as possible. For mostly, help and solutions are much closer than we think, but because we are panicking, we fail to think clearly and constructively, and bump into greater difficulties.
We as a nation need to stand united in this great hour of need. We need to learn from our errors, get our priorities right, and focus on solutions rather than bring the collective energy and morale further down by condemning, criticising, and abusing the system. Though the clock cannot be turned back to correct the mistakes that have led to this mayhem, we can use this calamity to introspect, become humble, grateful, and more responsible in our actions and decision-making.
Prayers have a lot of power, and when the human race leaves its differences aside to pray for world peace and universal health and well-being, turnarounds happen. Let’s pray, help, send healing, and do everything in our power to alleviate human suffering. God-willing, this time will soon be behind us.
