We don’t take the time to be with ourselves and  observe what is going on within. This makes us  unaware that we are experiencing life through  a framework of stubborn prejudices, past  traumas, fears and limiting beliefs.

All through the world, there is an urgent need,  to dive into ourselves and seek out something  more permanent and nourishing.

Humanitarian Mohanji, a beacon of peace  freedom, and compassion has recognised  this urgent need and created course of online  programmes called“Empowered with Mohanji”,  with the aim of “Transcending the Mind and  Creating Masters”.

Dreaming of a Greener Earth

Anil Waghji, Kiran Mahajanji, and Prabha  Belle from Mumbai were extremely  concerned about the urban jungle  around them  and decided to  join hands and  do something  to plant trees  and work  towards green  conservation.

To this end,  of volunteering, adding members, or giving land  leads for plantation) still remains a difficult task  as not many realise the ground reality of climate  change looming

large. We could face intolerable heat waves thanks  to the daily air,  land, and water  pollution humans  subject Mother

Earth to. Tthey founded  Hirva Swapna in 2018, inspired by  two gurus. One was the late Shashikant Ranadeji,  who was an environmentalist and who would  come wherever invited to conduct free tree walks  to help make citizens aware of the importance  and biodiversity value of trees. The other is Dr  C Lattoo, who used to conduct tree walks around  Mumbai’s gardens.

Their group is a citizen movement, and they  supported and motivated each other to get  connected to more and more members. And each  new member would, in turn, give them more  members and also leads to carry out plantation  in protected places which had a compound, water  facility, and a mali (gardener) to take care of the  tree saplings they plant.

They found it difficult to pursue their goal in this  fast-paced world, where values revolve around  money. Convincing people to join their movement  in whichever way possible -

a sister concern in Pune, Maharashtra, and is  collaborating with The Satsang Foundation for  plantation in Maharashtra. They are in regular  coordination with a team in Madhya Pradesh  for planting trees in their thousands and also  provide guidance throughout India through  video conferencing.

The trio want this citizen movement to snowball  into millions working quietly and selflessly  for Mother Earth each day, starting from their  own houses and, eventually, proceeding to their  neighbourhood, their entire country, and the  entire world. That is what ‘Hirva Swapna,’ which  means ‘Green Dreams,’ is all about.

The group states, “We are lovers of nature and  wish to motivate more and more to join hands in  its conservation.”

We are sure they will progressively spread  environmental conservation as their intent and  passion is pure and genuine.

Sustainable hygiene  solution for women

Dr Sabapathy’s family, team members, home  institution (IIT Delhi), Ministry of Home and  Urban Affairs, and IIT Kanpur supported him. The barriers motivated us to form a company to  develop biodegradable super-absorbent sheets  infused with Celligo BioSAP, called Celligo  Bio-Inserts. They are specially designed for  conventional pad producers to switch over to  biodegradable pad production compliant with  international standards without altering their  manufacturing set-up.”Dr Sabapathy says that the pad manufacturing  sector also has the responsibility to minimise  single-use plastic layers used in their production  lines. This needs new bio-based materials like  Dr Sabapathy: Innovating for women and Mother Earth Sanitary napkins are harmful to the  environment but we cannot help using  them. Fortunately, there are men like Dr  Sabapathy S and Professor Anup K Ghosh who  have helped in finding an eco-friendly solution  for women.

Dr Sabapathy says, “As material scientists,  while working on this project, I explored  the menstrual hygiene sector and I came to  know that this sector uses 90 per cent of raw  materials imported from developed countries  and most of them are single-use plastics. On the  other hand, current biodegradable raw materials  like banana and bamboo fibres are not feasible  for conventional production lines, and they  need a different production set-up that may  not be financially viable for most industries.  These concerns about current technology  made them found BioSAP, a high-speed sustainable production  set-up, and, finally, a proper product design.

A pad having several single-use plastic  layers is not good for menstrual hygiene and  environmental hygiene. Using Celligo bio sheets and by following a sustainable production  set-up, one can reduce the number of layers  from eight to two without compromising on the  absorption capacity.

Celligo Innovation is now recognised by the  Ministry of Home and Urban Affairs under the  Swachhata program.

Dr Sabapathy hopes this innovation enables  many pad manufacturers to switch over to  biodegradable pads partially or completely.  He is in communication with a few companies  in Europe, the US, and other developed  countries and has already got their positive  response.
