A drug that has a laudable effect on cancer patients
He was an assistant manager at a tea estate, but destiny had other plans for him. In his interaction with the tribals of the region, Nandlal Tiwari stumbled upon a drug, Carctol, which had anti-cancerous properties. From the tea gardens of Assam, Dr Tiwari moved to Gondia, a small hamlet near Nagpur, and started giving Carctol to cancer patients. “It cured many people afflicted with cancer,” says Dr Tiwari. The beginnings were small: Tiwari and his wife would grind the herbs at night, make small paper packets and give them to cancer patients. Later, they decided to fill the ayurvedic drug in capsules.
For the first few years, Dr Tiwari used to treat his patients free of cost. However, after shifting to Jaipur, he began to charge a nominal amount to meet the expenses involved in procuring the medicine and in running his house. Gradually as the fame of the medicine grew, more patients began frequenting him. For those who couldn’t afford it, Dr Tiwari gave the medicine free of cost. In a study of 1,900 patients taking Carctol and following the regimen, 25 per cent had 75-100 per cent benefit; 50 per cent had 25-75 per cent benefit, and 25 per cent had little or no benefit. The benefits include having more energy, putting on weight and being more tranquil. Exactly how many cancers disappeared is not known.
“If the patients suffering from cancer take the medicine in the initial stages, the success rate shoots up. But usually patients come to me when their cancer has advanced and modern-day doctors have given up all hopes on them,” says Dr Tiwari.
Many a time, Dr Tiwari has requested the central and state governments to carry out a detailed research on his medicine so that the anti cancerous body ~ healer properties of his medicine can get an endorsement from modern science. “On several occasions, the government officials promised to carry out further research on the medicine, but no concrete steps have been taken so far. I have also requested the state government for land in Rajasthan where a cancer institute can be built. Here alternative medications and therapies to tackle cancer can also be prescribed by other specialists from across the country,” he said. “Our medicine is completely safe and has no side effects. It can be taken simultaneously with allopathic treatment. It was once tested in AIIMS, New Delhi, for any toxic substance but laboratory tests found that Carctol is absolutely safe,” says Dr Tiwari.
Dr Tiwari laments that even though modern science has no answers to most of the cancers, not many allopathic doctors take his medicine seriously. To make matters worse, there are various quacks promising quick-fix solutions and cures to cancer patients. “All these factors create doubt in the minds of patients who want to go for ayurvedic treatment,” he says.
While taking Carctol, the cancer patient must follow some guidelines. He must eat a vegetarian diet that is alkaline in nature along with a digestive enzyme to boost digestion. The patient has also to drink about three to five litres of water a day. Dr Tiwari believes that cancer cells are acidic and they cannot thrive in alkaline environment. The patient has to take two capsules four times a day. His condition is monitored for four months and if there is no improvement, the medicine is discontinued.
About eight years ago, Dr Rosy Daniel, former director of the Bristol Health Centre came to Dr Tiwari after hearing about his ayurvedic drug. After talking to some of the patients who were completely cured after taking Dr Tiwari’s medicine, Dr Daniel was so impressed by the medicine that she gave it to many patients battling cancer back home in England. The results were quite encouraging as some of the patients got cured of the cancer. “Initially, Dr Rosy Daniel gave the medicine to about 860 patients and she had a success rate of about 30 per cent in treating cancer patients,” Dr Tiwari said. In an interview to Telegraph she said, “With my own patients, my impression is that my results are close to Dr Tiwari’s. I look for benefits in the first two months. If there is none, it is not worth going on with it.”
When I query Dr Tiwari why his medicine does not give 100 per cent results, he remarks, “In my long experience in dealing with cancer patients, I have found that Carctol destroys cancer cells in some patients but some patients don’t benefit from it. I have sent the medicine to CCRS in Delhi. They have been researching on the medicine for six years. Let’s hope we get to know the cause behind it.”
Karma has probably something to do with it, but that apart, there seems to be a genuine hope for those beleaguered by this dreaded disease.
