July 2016
Held in Mount Mary school, Bandra, on May 15 and 16, the two-day Mystic Lotus Healing Festival organised by energy healer Nidhu Kapoor was an eclectic showcase of myriad modalities and healing techniques meant to heal and help people. There was music, organic food, vegan cookery classes, vegan delicacies, multiple workshops, and various practitioners offering their skills and knowhow. Though the place was abuzz with people, the general atmosphere was of peace, and joy. Said Dr Cheryl Dhabi, a healer who called herself, God’s love healing channel, “I got enlightened in 2013. Like everything God too has a frequency and I channel that frequency to send God’s love and healing to people.” Before me she answered the questions of people correctly, and sent them God’s healing, which brightened up their faces. A stall selling crystals and remedial stones displayed alive stones which reportedly absorbed pain when put on an aching body part. A couple Richard and Shikha sold Shuddhi therapy; holistic beauty care products that also claimed to cleanse the aura on being applied to the body. Said Richard, “The idea came to us in meditation, to make these products for personal use, but later we decided to do it for others too.” His wife Shikha came down with a severe lower backache which could not be healed by any healing technique, or conventional therapies.
Finally in a meditation they received the recipe of a healing oil with five ‘Shuddh Tattvas’ used in Shaivism along with the ritualistic process. Within three days of the application the pain left Shikha fully. Richard and Shikha realised that the products were not ordinary but were basically solutions for lots of ailments. They sold skincare paste, skincare bar, healing oils. Then there was another very interesting stall on voice analysis by Dr Mahesh Hukmani from Chandigarh who recorded the voice patterns of people to detect any anomaly in health. He took a computerised voice scan to find out the trapped energies in the body. An eye surgeon by profession he intuited this technique himself and is the first Indian to develop a software for voice analysis to know a person’s emotional state. He treated patients by exposing them to pure sound frequencies. A couple, Jai and Shweta, sold a small musical instrument called Zenzula which could be easily held within one’s palms. It did not require any training to play and produced beautiful healing sound on pressing its flat strings. Apart from the regular stalls on graphology, numerology, access facelift, oracle card reading, and angel reading Priti Jani the practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu was also offering her services. Jin Shin Jyutsu, an ancient healing technique, is a gentle art practised by placing the fingertips on designated ’safety energy locks’ on the human body to harmonise and restore the energy flow.
Of the many free healing sessions made available by Nidhu were Art therapy by Karishma Bajaj and Kavita Toprani, Qi Gong by Christopher Fernandez, Forgiveness by Ketan Kundaliya and power of breath and mudras by Partha Gupta. People thronged to the stalls and the workshops ran to full capacity. The festival will be held again in August 2016. See details on page 34.
