Suma Varughese emerges from a workshop on organ regeneration fairly confident that we have a good shot at healing our illnesses and achieving immortality
I have never been to a workshop that attracted so many people. Although the venue was a fairly large banquet hall in a suburban hotel in Mumbai, we were crammed to the gills – about 140 of us from every part of the country, waiting to participate in a workshop that had the strongest promise we had heard in recent memory. Organ regeneration, no less.
Most of us hardly knew what to expect, but I was excited. A digestive disorder had laid me low for the past six months. I had lost several kilos, had confined myself to the simplest of food and endured a lot of discomfort and inconvenience. Perhaps this was the lucky break that would enable me to get a grip on my health, I hoped. Like me there were several patients looking to heal even from serious conditions like cancer. But the majority were healers and therapists out to add a spectacular arrow to their already weighty quiver of cures.
The heady excitement got a necessary check when the tall, grey-haired and dignified Dr Hazel Wadhwa, our facilitator, addressed us directly to the point. Dr Wadhwa is the only one who has been authorized by Dr Arcady Petrov, the moving force behind the Russian trio of scientists to discover this path-breaking process, to teach the course in South Asia. “I am told many of you are expecting miracles to take place,” she smiled. “Well, I too had felt similarly when Dr Petrov came to Melbourne for his first workshop.” Dr Wadhwa had been afflicted by a frozen shoulder at that time. “I thought he would wave his hand and my pain would lift, but this did not happen. In this course the healer is yourself. It is you who will have to heal yourself.”
Ohhh. I could sense the deflation in the group. You mean we were not going to spring back to health at the snap of a finger? Reality further set in when she told us of someone who had regenerated his thumb, but it had taken him several years!
So there we had it. There really were no short cuts. No magical panacea brewed out of the Siberian air. What we had instead was a possibility. A possibility hardly anyone, no matter how visionary or harebrained, had explored, let alone realized. Just like Buddha and other great souls had shown mankind the possibility of enlightenment, Dr Arcady was bringing to fruition the possibility of organ regeneration.
That to me, is the workshop’s and Dr Petrov’s seminal achievement: to have planted into the ether the possibility that we could live forever, that we are meant to be immortal beings and we have the power to regenerate our body parts.
Of course, this possibility has been explored greatly in ayurveda, which has a little known branch called Kaya Kalpa which talks of organ regeneration, and Indian myths are rife with legends of sages living for hundreds of years.
Yet today, little is known of these esoteric sciences, and mankind continues to writhe in the coils of sickness, old age and disease.
So what is the process that enables us to bring this possibility to light? Dr Hazel calls it Informational healing, which seems to be the next step in healing, a movement from the energy healing that was ushered in by Reiki and Pranic healing. She told us that we were working with knowledge coming directly from the Creator, and that our tool was light. The new light, we were told, was very dense, and when we had invoked it within our being too, our own light would be dense enough for people to heal in our presence.
Be that as it may, I have never been in a workshop where as much information was fed to the body and mind in as confident and assertive a manner. And I, for one, can find no difficulty in believing that the body and the mind will naturally realist the commands we feed them, for that is the way reality works. After all, that we make our own reality is the ABC of spiritual wisdom. In those four days, I found myself drenched in affirmations to the body and to the universe. Coming out of the workshop I would feed the Universe the information that I would get a ride to the station and even though I might not have landed an auto, I twice got lifts from fellow participants. I felt unusually well during those four days too, and my stomach problem became a little more tractable.
The workshop, meanwhile, had started off on a strong note, with Dr Hazel putting us through a few exercises to help us eliminate the old conditioning that condemned us to a destiny of birth, old age, sickness and death. The exercise entailed building a pillar of rainbow-colored light over us, and to chant what they call the Great Invocation, a touching prose-poem invoking the Creator’s help in bringing transformation on earth. We were then told to visualize the pillar moving rapidly in an anti-clockwise direction, and eliminating all the conditioning of old age, sickness and death. Radiant rainbow-colored energy was seen to fill every cell in the body. The pillar was rebuilt and this time it was made to go in a clockwise direction, filling the cells with the power of regeneration. The words ‘regenerate’, ‘immortality’ and ‘resurrection’ were written on every cell. We were asked to give a command to the DNA to activate, and for the cells to regenerate.
We were also told that we possessed a youth gene which she made us activate, asking us to fix it to whichever age we wanted to return to. Most of us, audaciously, chose 25 as the ideal age.
There were many other similar exercises we were initiated into. The exercise to regenerate organs went thus: We were asked to imagine or create the image of the organ we wished to regenerate. Taking a stem cell from the spine or area closest to the organ, we were asked to implant the cell in the region of the organ, while intending that new cells will differentiate and multiply. The number code 1358 was written on the original stem cell, considered to be the number governing regeneration.Pointing the right forefinger (representing the soul) at the left forefinger (representing spirit) activate the process of regeneration. Much of what we were taught appeared to be intuited by Dr Petrov, including concepts such as the existence of nine firstborn cells between each of which is a light screen representing some part of the body. According to him, the seat of the soul is under our Thoracic 8 vertebra and contains among other things, plasmoids, living matter which can be used to eliminate blocks in arteries and veins.
In the four days that followed we were taught innumerable exercises to help us purify our consciousness, eliminate the conditioning in the cells and activate healing in any part of the body needing help. At the start of each day, Dr Hazel would put us through a collection of the most significant of these exercises. With each day, they took up more time but together they packed a rare wallop. Consciously focusing on healing, consciously commanding the cells to regenerate provided energy and vitality. Many of the patients reported significant shifts in health. Sister Gaithonde, Principal of Sadhana School, one of Mumbai’s best-known schools for the differently abled, had severe photophobia, causing chronic burning and watering of the eye, forcing her to wear dark glasses, even at home in the evenings. However, she doffed the glasses on the second day of the workshop and has not had to resume them so far.
Chandigarh-based Babbu Gill had come to the workshop on behalf of a cancer-stricken relative. She reports that the exercises she learnt at the workshop have helped him take remarkable strides in healing, leaving the doctors amazed. I myself have practiced the exercises every morning for a couple of months (I have to confess that I have let it somewhat slip now) and the results were excellent. No, I did not heal from my stomach condition, but each day I could feel that the conditioning that gave rise to it and other disorders were slowly leaving me. What helped the most was an exercise that helped us bring to the fore of our consciousness and then eliminate, all the traumas we had been subject to. Each day I reviewed my life, from birth to the present moment, one decade at a time, embraced and healed the traumatic memories and released them from my being. Dr Hazel rightly attributed the presence of all disease to trauma, and each time I did the exercises their hold on me was reduced.
Today, I feel that the traumas that held some parts of me captive have mostly dissipated and a fresh sense of freedom has seized me.
My last words on the subject would be that even though I may not have experienced a radical shift, I found those exercises to be among the most powerful I have done and I am pretty sure they have the potential to charge our consciousness with the power to heal our lives.
