The miracle called love

To think that love is just a feeling is to not do justice to it at all. I have experienced some of the most beautiful miracles in my life through love. I believe love is a crazily potent force, and everything is born from it and dissolves back into it. The arms, the legs, the creatures, and the forms are all interconnected with a beautiful and yet so fragile and tender force called love.
Today, I wish to share with you a few incredible miracles I have experienced in my life through the sheer power of love.
The first was when I was just a little girl and was walking on the road to buy some stationery. I picked up all I needed, and just then, saw a little boy, an urchin, come towards me and ask me for money. I had no money left, but seeing his beautiful eyes, I said to him, “My house is nearby. Please come. I will ask my mummy for some money.” The boy agreed and was almost the same size and height as me, and we walked towards my home. I went in and told my mother to help me with things, food, and money for the little boy. She readily agreed, and we started packing things. I went outside and saw him sitting like a Buddha at my doorstep. I told him, “I am packing some things for you. Please wait.” He smiled and said to me, “You are a beautiful child. May the best happen for you in life.” He suddenly looked a lot older and wiser than just a boy from the streets.
I went in and started packing stuff. When we were finally done about fifteen minutes later, there were two huge bags for the boy to take home. I felt so happy. When I went out, I was surprised to see that the boy had disappeared. I ran down, looked for him, asked people around if they had seen a little boy, but he seemed to have vanished into thin air. Nothing of the boy remains, and yet, everything of the memory of him saying to me, “You are a beautiful child, may the best happen for you in life” remains. I felt I had been blessed that day, and somehow, the blessing never ever wore off.
I next felt the power of love in my life when my mother conquered two cancers. The first, in 2005, a stage 3 breast cancer, and then in 2013, a stage 4, grade 4 brain cancer. In the latter case, the doctors gave her three months to live, and today, in 2021, she is very much with us. And the biggest miracle is that it is so without her having to take a single pill or a scan. This story has been covered in the media as well as on websites, but what many don’t know is that what worked for us along with a complete shift in lifestyle was the deepest feeling of love. For both my sister and me, my mother is our world, and we literally moved mountains to have her in our life. I feel that seeing our love and her faith in her beloved guru, along with her resilience, Life gifted us our mother for many more years than we could ever imagine.
Love defines my life in every way. From what I write to who I write for. From the silence I experience through my day to the feeling that God is right with me. From challenging times to happy ones. I feel the presence of love as one would feel, cocooned in a soft, white cashmere sweater on a cold winter night.
Love is a vibration. The highest vibration. It is the God energy, and the more we allow our hearts to be resplendent with love, the more we open our little selves to this infinite energy—to give, to receive, to share, to cherish, to celebrate—and the more we are in line with the Universe.
Love is not a feeling.
It is everything that is.
You are love. I am love. We are love.
