Crop Circles Hoax or warning

Ever since they mysteriously started appearing in fields, crop circles have become synbols of powerful energy anomalies. An exploration of these spontaneously appearing power spots
Some would argue that crop circles are the greatest mystery of our age. Others dismiss them as the work of pranksters. But there is no denying that they have had a profound effect on mankind in the latter years of the 20th century. Each year heralds ever more complex formations and elaborate patterns (researchers predicted seven-fold geometric designs in 1997 and these appeared the very next year). Although hoaxing does go on, are the hoaxers really as proficient as they would have us believe?
What’s ‘Genuine’?
Imagine that just one single formation—somewhere, from the thousands to appear during the last several decades in numerous countries around the world—is genuine. Firstly, we need to know what is ‘genuine’. Most researchers would agree that genuine refers to any formation not made by humans armed with rollers and planks. I believe there has been more than just a single genuine circle.
Let’s now try to work out what the message, if any, might be. Is it a dire warning from Mother Earth? Are crop circles a communication from departed souls or ancient tribes? Are they markings from passing UFOs, or are they secret military tests? Are they a natural phenomenon caused by underground water reserves, wind vortices or mating hedgehogs?
The most common interpretation is that these are some kind of communication. Personally, I believe it is a communication with ourselves, a look inside human nature to understand it. Different people see different things. We each have our own paths to travel through life and each of us will encounter different challenges and possibilities. But we are all masters of our own destiny.
Signposts For The Soul
Crop circles act like a signpost, and I think the goal they point to is of becoming better, more open and aware individuals. They refer us to some future state of being, perhaps becoming more environmentally conscious, more spiritual, whatever? Also, like a road signpost, some people can miss the direction it’s pointing in or follow it for a few miles and then take a wrong turning. Pranksters could point it in a different direction to fool people. So what? As long as we eventually get to our destination it doesn’t matter which route we take.
So if there is indeed some profound message for mankind in crop circles, what if certain people wanted the status quo to remain unaltered? Many may argue against such ‘conspiracy theories’ but, like the rest of crop circle research, I would urge you to keep an open mind and do your own digging. Like experiencing the circles themselves.
When the phenomenon first appeared, much pioneering research was done. Many theories were developed. People began to look outside established thinking to search for solutions. Could the symbols in the fields point us to a better understanding of science? Were they coded secrets for free, or zero point energy systems? Were they hinting at higher levels of consciousness? Questions like these could worry those who want to hold on to their power over the population and thus maintain the status quo.
Serious research has continued, even though the global media had tried to fool the public into thinking it was all one big hoax. In the 1990s, hundreds of formations appeared all around the world. More and more people visited crop formations for the first time and experienced their continuing mystery. If there is one thing that you can’t deny it’s your own, felt in the heart experience. Thus the subject refused to die.
Global Consequences
By 1991, the growth of the New Age movement must have seriously worried the global manipulators. There was talk of the raising of consciousness, freedom from 20th century thinking and people were questioning age-old beliefs in science and religion. A global shift was taking place (perhaps the true meaning to which crop circles were pointing?)
According to the ‘croppies’, people were waking up to the environment around them, refusing to take government claims at face value, noticing the damage being done to the world by global corporations and oil companies, and daring to step outside the ‘hassle-free zone’. It also became evident that if the entire subject of crop circles were a hoax then surely when the hoaxers stopped hoaxing (as they would once they had been ‘discovered’ and widely reported in the media), the circles would stop. But they didn’t.
On September 9, 1991, the day after the first international crop circle conference was held at Glastonbury, UK, the British newspaper Today proclaimed that two sexagenarians, Doug Bower and Dave Chorley, had perpetrated the entire crop circle mystery using nothing but planks, ropes and a baseball cap. People believed them, even though they provided no proof other than a couple of hastily made formations for TV. Since 1991, although serious crop circle research has continued, the initial bubble of excitement has burst.
The Circles Live On
This is a mystery with many layers, most of them non-linear. One moment you could be investigating sacred geometry and mathematical theorems, the next unearthing mysteries of the ancients, musical ratios or human aura fields. Each signpost seemingly points to the next in a haphazard kind of way. I believe the message of the crop circles is also two-fold. The first is often an easily recognized part while the second is hidden, which can only be discovered by the dedicated seeker of the truth, just like secret societies through the ages have used particular symbols to communicate to others ‘in the know’.
Researchers have discovered that the geometry of crop circles is slightly non-symmetrical. Rather than being a mistake, this can actually reveal a ‘high level’ complex geometry. For instance, one crop circle I investigated back in 1993 at the base of Telegraph Hill (near Winchester, Hampshire) displayed a rather lop-sided geometry. When I fed it into the computer, a high degree of accuracy was revealed when the shape was viewed as a three-dimensional tetrahedron rotated in space.
Break Free
Crop circles have taught us to look within for answers as well as without. We may all see the same thing, but what we perceive is unique to us as individuals. This is what I believe the government is frightened of. What if someone discovered that there is a free alternative to oil and coal? What if someone questioned the science taught at school? This is why the government would rather you were watching TV and worrying about going to work tomorrow. I would dare you to think differently and become a member of the ‘unique and special individual’ club. Welcome to the future, whatever you decide to make it!
