Do away with depression
Worries are inevitable, but one should not become a slave to depression, as there’s always a way out, asserts Dadashreeji
Opening your eyes every morning after a good night’s rest brings you back to the same unwanted reality. Problems you wished to run away from, the previous day, reappear and so does your anxiety. Your choices do not change the reality of the day.
Soon, you realise that every day is the same as the previous one—the same morning, the same people, the same place, and similar problems. Worries are unending. You keep asking the same questions to yourself again and again: “Is this the life we desired or is this what life is all about?” “Did God want me to remain unhappy in this life?” “Will I remain devoid of love?” “Why is life unfair to me?” “Is God punishing me?” “Will I able to experience a good and happy life?” All these questions are asked by your perplexed mind every night before you sleep or when you are alone. Almost every night, the mind futilely worries about the future and ceaselessly thinks, contemplates, and analyses everything. After some time in this internal struggle, the mind, at last, enters sleep. A few hours of uneasy, broken sleep, and you are back to reality the next morning. Blessed are those who sleep well, take a deep dive, and wake up fresh!
These daily worries impact your mind and gradually bring about a change in you. It can only go in two directions: they either strengthen you or weaken you as a person. If it’s the former, life is good, and it blesses you with abundance. But if it’s the latter, instead of being boosted with energy, you are drained. You are constantly being hammered by the ever-increasing demands of life. Your close ones find you guilty every time of not meeting their expectations. For some, the physical body is in a bad state due to medical reasons.
You get bogged down with your worries, leading to stress and anxiety. Under stress and unable to solve your problems for long, you unknowingly invite depression. If you remain in this state of depression for more than three months, it will visibly start affecting your physical health. You will be shackled and will remain far from your strong qualities. My friends, it’s okay to be depressed for a while but not for long. Depression can be a chapter in your life but not a book. It should not be the only story of your life.
Depression is an unwelcome guest in your house. You have to stand up strong and ask this guest to leave immediately. Remember! There is always a way to come out of any difficult situation. Keep your hopes alive! If you want to see a quick and positive change in yourself, start truly expressing your emotions to someone close to you. If you can’t, then express it to the closest one—your Inner-Divine, your God.
Life is eternally beautiful.
