Dreams, Destiny, Divine
Smita Jayakar shares her heartfelt joy at experiencing love and inner fulfilment in the presence of Dadashreeji—a friend, philosopher, and spiritual guide—and highly recommends the transformative programme she attended 

From time to time, the Universe sends us messages, which, when decoded, give us those ‘aha’ moments—moments when the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and understanding becomes realisation, knowledge becomes wisdom. The Universe presented me with such an opportunity when I attended a programme called ‘Dreams Destiny Divine’ by Dadashreeji. Before I tell you more about what happened and how it came to be, let me share a little bit about myself.

Many of you know me as an actor. However, there is another side to me. I am an avid spiritual seeker, and in the last 32 years that I have been on this path, I have come across many programmes, many processes, and many masters. I have actively taken part in learning various modalities and performed rigorous sadhanas (spiritual practices) for spiritual upliftment. In 2013, while still seeking, I came in the presence of Dadashreeji. That was a life-changing moment for me.

Experience with the Master
Dadashreeji is the founder-visionary of MaitriBodh Parivaar, a socio-spiritual organisation and a family of friends in its essence, working for humanity with the aim of establishing peace and harmony through human transformation. Dadashreeji is a social and spiritual reformer, a global humanitarian, who has been working relentlessly to uplift human consciousness.

What instantly connected me to Dadashreeji is the simplicity yet profundity of his teachings.

Dadashreeji presents his teachings with extraordinary simplicity and clarity. It’s not just intellectual understanding that he imparts; he gives us an experience of it in our hearts, such that it becomes our own personal Truth. In my long spiritual journey, while I had earlier gained a somewhat clearer understanding of life, under the aegis of Dadashreeji, I have experienced a clear shift within my heart and the journey has simply been beautiful.

I have attended many programmes by Dadashreeji, and I will fall short of words to describe my experiences. However, I would like to draw your attention to this one-of-its-kind programme—Dreams Destiny Divine. The programme is unique not only in its content but also in its format. It is a two-day semi-spiritual programme designed in an experiential workshop format, very unlike the usual discourses we often attend. As I came to realise, the programme is about myself—my dreams, my destiny, and my Divine. 

Our dearest dreams
We all have dreams. Not the ones we have when we are asleep. I mean, we all have dreams and aspirations, things we want to achieve in life. Remember the time when we were young? We had such wonderful dreams. However, as we grew up and life happened to us, for many of us, those dreams took a back seat. Today, they often lurk in the back of our minds, making us wistful as we keep them aside as some things to be picked up in the distant future. Well, this programme helps us revisit those dreams, articulate them on paper, and explore why they are our dreams. Our dreams are often connected to the purpose of our life. This is an opportunity to identify those dreams that define us and give meaning and purpose to our lives.

It is not enough to just identify dreams that are close to our heart. It is important to take concrete steps to bring them to life. Dadashreeji shares three very practical yet profound measures that we can easily adopt in order to achieve success. He also offers us insights about ourselves: who we really are, how we function, and what our innate talents and qualities are, through practical tools and lenses designed for self-exploration. He describes seven states of being or personality types that help us understand where we are in the journey of life at this moment and where we need to be—our destination.

Their link with destiny
The second part of the programme deals with destiny. There is a lot of existing literature about destiny across the globe and across cultures. There is a clear lack of clarity about destiny and its impact on our lives. Is destiny a limiting factor in our lives? Are we bound by our destiny such that it is futile to have dreams or to put in efforts towards achieving them? Which events or circumstances in our lives are part of our destiny? What is the purpose of destiny? What role does it play in our lives? And finally, and most importantly, can destiny be changed? These and other existential questions about destiny were answered by Dadashreeji with such clarity and certitude that they created those intense moments of Self-realisation that I had earlier mentioned.

The final section of the programme is about the Divine. It helps us examine our belief in the Divine or the lack of it. It helps us explore what Divinity is, what is its nature, and where we can seek the Divine. It tells us why it is important, in fact, how it is indeed the need of the hour to connect with the Divine. The programme ends, on a high note, with a process that helps us experience the Divine energy within us and leaves us with tips to access it to help fuel our purpose. 

The hand of the Divine
To say that this programme is deeply impactful is to say the least. Thanks to the Internet, we know or at least have access to information about numerous things that make up this Universe. However, how well do we really know ourselves? We strive to change our circumstances and people around us. But as Dadashreeji says, “Remember, the only worthwhile challenge in your life is to change yourself. The rest is baseless and a waste of time.” This programme leaves you with not just the wisdom, tools, and techniques to bring a positive shift within yourself, but also helps you to actualise your intent with the help of the energy awakened within your heart. 

Great inner shifts
I came away from the programme with a sense of immense relief and inner peace. I no longer felt like an anchorless ship bobbing up and down in the ocean of life. I felt that my life is safely ensconced in the hands of the Divine and that I am taken care of every step of the way as I keep doing my part. My sharing will be incomplete if I do not mention the overwhelming sense of love and fulfilment I inevitably experience in the physical presence of Dadashreeji. In his mere presence, I experience the transformation in my heart, where ideas and concepts become my own personal truth.

I have found the drive within me to embark on a couple of new projects close to my heart as I experience the presence of the Divine in my life and the Grace that has been bestowed upon me.
