Your favourite magazine is 25 years old!
What a landmark moment in our lives! We started as fellow-travelers two decades ago and how far we have come walking hand-in-hand! This calls for a celebration.
Though I joined Life Positive only in 2011, I am sure we have many old and loyal readers who have been with us right from the start and been witness to all the changes undergone by the magazine over the years. It’s your undying loyalty that has brought us this far.
To celebrate this milestone, we decided to republish the abridged version of 12 best cover stories that have appeared in Life Positive over the years.
However, best is a dubious word over here. Even though my team and I spent more than a month poring over the bound copies of the past 25 years trying to select the most outstanding cover stories, we still do not know if we have been able to do justice to this task. The lead stories of Life Positive have been so diverse, each discussing a crucial aspect of life, – whether of body, heart or mind – hugely relevant to someone reading it, that we can confidently say that the ones which could not be featured also fit the criteria. I am sure many readers will feel that we omitted many excellent articles which should have found a place in the list. Another hurdle which came in our way was retrieving old articles from the initial days of Life Positive. Software had changed, digital copies were in a state of disrepair, and many chosen articles virtually irredeemable. Some we could recover and others we could not. This has made us seriously take up the matter of preserving our archives in their modern avatar so that this treasure is not lost. God willing, we would accomplish it.
I hope you enjoy this special issue, put together with a lot of hard work and team effort. This is indeed a proud moment for Chairman Aditya Ahluwalia, President D R Kaarthikeyan, Director, V Venkat and assistant Vice-President Dharamveer Singh, who have been tirelessly and uncomplainingly working to secure the interest of the magazine for as long as I have known them. In their hands our future feels safe.
