October 2015

Dear Reader,
Our cover story this month deals with the entrancing topic of the unknown. No seeker can afford to ignore the unknown for it is the domain of all growth and possibility. Unless we are willing to leave our comfort zone and move into the unencountered or the unseen, we can never hope to be more than we are. As one writer eloquently put it: Unless we are willing to let go of what we are, we will never be what we can be.
So embrace the unknown and enable it to show you facets of your character you never knew you had, or to take you on marvellous adventures that expand your spirt, enlarge your heart, and enrich your life.
We have a clutch of interviews for you this month which make for engrossing reading. One of these is with Swami Chidananda, a monk who started with the Chinmaya Mission, travelled the other extreme by joining the Krishnamurti Foundation, and is now on his own, hopefully after having reconciled the traditional approach of one with the radical approach of the other.
We also have an interview with Aparna Pallavi, an environmental journalist who, in the course of her work, discovered a fascination for tribal forest food. The environmental wisdom of gathering already available food from the forest, instead of clearing it to grow food was compelling enough to inspire her to quit and work to popularise this idea, particularly among the urban populace. Stories like these help us discover new possibilities that can transform our world. We at LP are committed to source more such stories that reveal the contours of a more conscious, holistic world in the making.
Enjoy the month.
