Dhyanam:
Hiranyavarnaan harineen suvarnarajatasrajaam.
chandran hiranamayeen lakshmeen janavedo maroh.
We adore Lakshmi, who has the nature of supreme peace and the lustre of gold; whose form is radiant, wearing gold and possessing all ornaments; who carries a golden chalice and a golden lotus; whose hands give gold, the original power; the mother of all, who dwells at the side of Lord Vishnu.
Connection between the lotus and Goddess Lakshmi
The lotus, the most sacred flower, is the symbol of unfoldment that represents different chakras of the body. Although it grows in mud, it maintains its serenity and purity. Goddess Lakshmi is sometimes called Kamala—the name of the lotus. Kamala is one of the ten wisdom goddesses. Goddess Lakshmi arises out of the lotus from a cosmic ocean. She is the symbol of wealth, beauty, love, devotion, and fertility. She is the mother, fulfilling all the desires with her divine love and grace.
Connection between Kamala and Sundari
Both goddesses, Kamala and Sundari, rule over love. Kamala conducts the outer beauty and causes us to create forms in the outer world. Sundari governs the bliss form of the self and allows us to merge our outer world into the consciousness. Kamala is the form that relates to the earth and nourishes whatever we desire and aspire to achieve. She allows the divine grace in many forms. Kamala is worshipped for both spiritual as well as worldly matters and is the essence of all the tanmatras, which means all the subtle elements in the universe.
Worldly and spiritual wealth
Kamala is the highest form of Lakshmi that symbolises the spirit of giving all that we seek. We worship goddess Kamala the most as we seek outer beauty and abundance above all. We get everything we ask for, from Kamla. It is by worshipping her that one can put an end to all outer seeking. She unfolds the inner power of our perception to help us seek beauty in the simplest of things in Mother Nature.
Connection between Kamala, Lakshmi, and Kaali
Kamala, Lakshmi, and Kaali are all forms of Shakti, but all these have something unique to bless with. Kamala is the Wisdom Goddess and relates to the practice of yoga. She is a part of Lakshmi as well as Kaali. Kaali, the beauty of Void, helps us to detach ourselves from all worldly matters.
Only after true detachment learnt from Kaali, can one enjoy the fulfilment of life and the blessings of Kamala; she
blesses only when they surrender all their desires and attachment to the eternal reality.
Meditation form of Goddess Kamala
Goddess Kamala resides in the heart chakra of the body with divine grace and grants us with perfect beauty and happiness. She is golden in colour and sits on a lotus, with her hands gesturing a granting of boons. She has a lotus and a water pot in her other hands and one of her legs hanging down. She is also portrayed as being bathed by elephants, as water is the symbol of grace and love. Goddesses Kamala is portrayed as the symbol of beauty, fertility, and love.
Power mantra
The beej mantra for Goddess Kamala is the same as that of Goddess Lakshmi—Shreem, the mantra that grants all the boons of life. It is a mantra for beauty, abundance, love, fertility, devotion, surrender, and liberation.
Deepawali: Shri Mahalakshmi Anushthanam
Deepawali is the day for worshipping Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Kamala,and Goddess Kali. Deepawali Mahalakshmi Anushthanam will be organised at our religious centre at Jodhpur, Rajasthan, for three days to welcome wealth, prosperity, and abundance in life along with the blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi.
