Animals possess a rich inner world, and animal communicators help decode that world to us, says Shivi Verma
Not long ago a video went viral on facebook about a lady called Anna Breytenbach who helped communicate between a caged black leopard called Diabolo and his caretaker Jurg Olson, founder of Jukani wildlife sanctuary in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. Jurg, an ex-policeman, used to rescue tortured animals from captivity and rehabilitate them in the sanctuary. But Diabolo was difficult to handle. Scarred by the abusive treatment he was subjected to in the circus he was employed in, he grew to distrust human beings and was ready to attack anybody trying to come close to him. But the ferocious and hostile animal was easily tamed once the beautiful Anna, who emanated calm and peace, established a dialogue with him. The moment she came near his cage the leopard calmed down. Anna tuned into his frequency and began talking. He communicated to Anna that he was thankful to Jurg for letting him be and not placing any demands on him. But he also said that he did not like the name Diabolo which meant dark and sinister, and that he was concerned about the fate of two little cubs which had been separated from him when he was taken away from the circus. Jurg was surprised and moved to tears by this revelation. He agreed that indeed there were two cubs in the cage adjoining Diabolo’s cage. The sceptic in him turned into a believer. He changed Diabolo’s name to Spirit and assured him about the good condition of the cubs. Immediately, the animal mellowed. He became amicable, and began to freely move in the compound. This video moved many. Most viewers were astounded at Anna’s intuitive ability to communicate with ferocious animals and pass on their message to others. They were fascinated to realise that animals possessed thoughts and feelings, and that it was possible to converse with them as one does with humans. Exotic as this may seem, the science is not alien to India, which has its fair share of animal communicators. Understanding animals What is animal communication and how does it work? Animal lovers who are also energy sensitive, are naturally oriented to become animal communicators. Says Kashmira A Elavia, a Mumbai-based healer and animal communicator, “Animal communication is a two-way telepathic communication between humans and animals. Although everyone is intuitive, there are people who are more attuned to the animal kingdom and can sense and perceive their thoughts and feelings. When such people further finetune their ability to receive messages from the animal world through some form of formal training, they become animal communicators.” She says that she was already perceptive of the range in which animal communication happens. She recalls that a stray dog had once given birth to a litter in an area she lived in as a young girl. One day, one puppy fell in a pit somewhere. It began to wail. “My friends and I began trying to locate it but could not because the area was quite wooded. And then suddenly I began to strongly feel in which direction the trapped puppy was. I followed my intuition, and found the ditch where the puppy had fallen. We were able to rescue it,” she says. “I ask questions to the animal and it relays back information in the form of images or strong feelings,” she says. Manjiri Latey taught many people the skill of communicating with animals Manjiri Latey taught many people the skill of communicating with animalsManjiri Latey was compelled to learn the art of animal communication when her pet dog died in very painful circumstances. She wanted to find answers and from the year 2009-2012 her journey in the realm of animal communication began. She learnt it from teachers such as Maia Kincaid, Carol Gurney, and Kim Pickett in the US and began to impart training a year and half ago. One of the foremost people to impart training in animal communication in India, Manjiri says, “Many people communicate with animals just like you would with fellow humans. The transfer of information is through our five senses and one gets images, sounds in the head, and bodily sensations. It is similar to a telephonic conversation with a human.” In the course of communicating with animals Manjiri has had some amazing revelations. “I have come across cases where the animal has alerted a human about an impending disease; in another a dog identified one of the servants who had stolen goods worth lakhs from the house, and in a different case the animal asked the family to move homes since the energy of the current house would have caused them to fall ill,” she says. Apparently, the video by Anna inspired many healers to become animal communicators, come closer to the world of animals, and even discover themselves. Says Aarti Ranadive, an animal communicator living in Dadar, Mumbai. Inspired by Anna Breytenbach’s video, Aarti Ranadive became an animal communicator “When I saw the panther taming video by Anna, I was very excited. I wanted to learn the technique and I contacted her team, but they told me that she was booked for three years and did not have the time to give personal training. Not ready to give up I searched and found Manjiri Latey in India who imparted these trainings. We were taught to meditate focussing on the spirit of the animal and focus on the flashes of images one was getting in the mind or feel the sensations in the body. I realised I was already having these experiences without knowing that was how animal communication happened.” For Ranjini Banerjee, a healer from Kolkata, animal communication was simply an extension of her capacity to access different energy. “At the end of the day all of us are energies. I simply allow my energy field to expand and mingle with the energy field of the animal to know what’s going on in their minds and if they have a message to communicate,” she says. Our soul friends As communicators, they share some amazing stories about the animals. Though pet owners and vets care for the animals not all the time can they understand or correctly interpret what the animal is going through. Kashmira had a client in the USA whose pet dog had stopped eating. The client could not make it eat despite her best efforts. When Kashmira connected to the dog through a meditation, she told her that she had a shooting pain in her right thigh because of vaccination shots, that made it difficult for her to eat. The owner then resolved the problem, and the pet became fine again. Another client’s cat had stopped eating. On communicating with it the cat told Kashmira of a cyst in its uterus. She was later operated for it. Sometimes communications have revealed the most unbelievable things. Once a facebook friend told Kashmira that her late mother’s pet dog was fully covered with ticks. It was in terrible shape and they did not know what the matter was. When Kashmira got in touch with the pet’s spirit he communicated that he was basically the soul of the owner’s old maidservant which was reborn in her house to receive all the care she had unstintingly given to them in her previous incarnation. When Kashmira described the details of the image she was receiving from the dog, the owner admitted to having a housemaid like her in her home a few years ago. A stray cat domesticated by a client’s family was very unruly and aggressive. When Kashmira communicated with it, she found that the cat did not like the name Terror given to it by his owner. Once its name was changed, it calmed down drastically. Taz was like a guardian angel to Maria Goretti, her husband Arshad Warsi, and children Zeke and Zene Aarti Ranadive has a very touching tale to tell. Once a client called Maria (who later turned out to be Maria Goretti, wife of actor Arshad Warsi), phoned her about her dog, Taz, who was very old and ill. The vet had recommended euthanasia, but she was not sure whether it was the right thing to do. Aarti communicated with the dog, who said that he was Maria’s guardian angel, and was holding on for Maria to release him. Finally, a tumour burst in Taz’s body, and Maria agreed to put him down, no longer able to bear his suffering. Aarti communicated to Maria that Taz was in complete agreement with her decision, and was willing to pass away. Finally, he was euthanised and he passed away peacefully in Maria’s arms. But even after dying the dog’s soul kept communicating with Aarti about Maria and her family. Once Taz’s soul communicated to Aarti that Maria’s children were very unwell, in the middle of the night. When Aarti contacted Maria she found that indeed Maria was having a very tough time because both her children were suffering from fever and bouts of vomiting. Aarti assured her that she must not worry because Taz was there, and he was looking after them. Taz had even predicted before his death that Maria would soon adopt a black puppy after he passed away. And even though Maria was unwilling, a vet compelled her to take a black puppy home. “I think animals are divine beings and very evolved creatures. We feel that we are their owners and caregivers, but once you own them they take on the role of a parent. If you are sad, they will see that you are happy, and many times act as sponges and take on your emotional and physical issues too,” says Aarti.
Recalls Ranjini, “Once a vet was trying very hard to revive a Doberman puppy on the verge of death, but it was not showing any response. Frantic, the doctor contacted me seeking my help. When I connected with the animal it communicated that its owner couple’s marriage was getting over, and the pup was passing away thinking that perhaps its death might unite them.
