The sixth sense
I refer to the article The voice within by Anuradha Sahu published in the November 2018 issue of Life Positive magazine. Sixth sense or intuition is a spontaneous act of the mind based on the knowledge and experience already stored in our subconscious mind, akin to the data stored on a computer.
It can also be a result of one’s previous births’ experience. This is because the soul is eternal, and it recalls or recognises many events and happenings of earlier births but does not substantiate rationality. Kudos to the writer for writing this article.

Wise content
I absolutely enjoyed reading the cover story, The art of waiting, by Shivi Verma, published in the November 2018 issue of Life Positive magazine. I appreciate it for its wise content and wealth of information. It made me reflect upon some incidents in my own life where I learned, often the hard way, that it pays to practice patience in all areas of life. This article has motivated me to choose three events to write about (for my own pleasure): one, a health issue, the second to do with my own learning curve, and the third, a petty issue that was solved in its own good time by my doing exactly what the article says—acceptance and surrender.
Also, I recently had one of those coincidences which mysteriously occur in life and take one’s breath away. I have been researching, again, for my own pleasure, about Walter Mischel and his gold standard Marshmallow Test and there it was, mentioned in the article! I was thrilled, to say the least.

The lost virtue of patience
From the very first issue of Life Positive magazine till the latest one, the reader-teacher relationship that I have with LP has grown manifold with every twist and turn that took place in these 22 years of LP’s life. The bond that I share with this magazine is immeasurable, and I will always be indebted to it.
This is with reference to the cover story, The art of waiting, by Shivi Verma, published in the November 2018 issue of Life Positive magazine. It is quite evident that the editor has put in intense patience while drafting this article. It is almost as if the Divine, through her, is teaching the lost virtue of patience to the humanity that is always in a hurry. Sai Baba, the apostle of patience, tried to bring equanimity in society by urging people to practice patience. Mahatma Gandhi’s rock-solid patience ultimately freed us from foreign yoke as it is a great force. Not apathy nor non-action; rather, the tremendous power of the soul.

Excellent piece of writing
I am thankful to Sanjiv Ranjan for his excellent piece of writing, the cover story Every child is a Buddha, published in the August 2018 issue of Life Positive magazine. He candidly and clearly imparted important tools for parenting, which is the need of the hour. As he says, the most powerful gift we can give to our child is to ensure that their breathing stays deep forever. We are all connected to the river of existence by our breath; our breath is the essence of life. The child, according to him, has the same powers as the Buddha, if his breathing continues deeply from the abdomen. To ensure that our children flower and flourish, Sanjiv Ranjan emphasises that the child should not be disgraced, no matter how innocuous it may seem to us.
Most childhood traumas come from three main deviations from love: judgment, repression, and coercion. Have faith in the love for your child and that faith on its own will show you the way. He powerfully sums up by saying, “Let’s preserve the powerful act, which deep breathing is, if we want the planet and humanity to flourish and continue.”

Corrigendum
In the column Guruspeak published in the October 2018 issue of Life Positive, the author, guru Dadashreeji says that 70 per cent of human life falls under the privilege of human free will, and not 80 per cent, as mentioned in the article. The error is regretted. -Editor
