Anu Mehta reveals to Shivi Verma how her traumas transformed her into a healer of international repute and how META-Health can treat illnesses which essentially have stress as their genesis
I met Anu Mehta in 2013, on a train journey to Rishikesh. We instantly developed a liking for each other, which gradually turned into a deep and abiding friendship over the years. Little had I realised, that Anu’s presence was Godsend in my life. She would miraculously turn up at the most challenging junctures of my life to give me the much needed help and insight.
Attending her three-day workshop in Mumbai was deeply cathartic for me. She made me see the truths I was shying away from. That I was deeply attached to my beliefs and outdated values which were not serving me in any way. With her help and expertise I was able to close a dysfunctional chapter of my life and forge ahead. I am often amazed by the depth and vastness of her knowledge of human psychology. This year she will be holding a one-day workshop on Soul Work through Meta-Health with Life Positive to help you align with your soul-purpose and heal deep-rooted traumas and hurts than often getting manifested as chronic diseases.
She reveals more about herself, her life-journey and the experiences that shaped her into becoming an empathetic healer of world-fame.
You are an internationally-acclaimed healer using the modality of META-Health. Could you tell us something about it?
META-Health is an amazing diagnostic tool that helps us understand the following aspects of any disease: why, when, how, and what next. These are the questions we may have pondered on many a time but have not found the correct answers to. This knowledge helps us understand the stress and the stressful event that caused emotional and biological changes in our body. This makes us aware and helps us accept and take responsibility for the state of our mind, emotions, and our body. We are then able to understand imbalances in our thoughts, internal environment, and perceptions, which are governed by our five senses, viz., sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste.
It’s a normal trend to blame food, inadequate exercise, change of climate, the evil eye, or micro-organisms, etc., for causing ill-health. According to META-Health, diseases are caused by stressful events and resultant faulty thought patterns. This new understanding helps us change our perspective about any disease and alleviates fears and superstitions.
Let’s understand what we mean by ‘symptoms.’ Symptoms are not diseases per se. They are physical manifestations of stress in one’s life and one’s inability to deal with it. Certainly, no one likes symptoms of pain, itching, swelling, or fever, but let’s understand that they are our body’s cry for rest and healing.
Disease occurs in two stages: one, wherein a person deals with stress, and the other, wherein a person has overcome stress and the body goes into a rest phase.
By understanding the fundamental cause, the symptoms, and the stage of the disease, a person is able to formulate a plan to deal with an extraordinary situation. The person becomes empowered and can also get rid of the symptoms.
What inspired you to learn META-health?
My biggest wounds became my most important spiritual gifts. I got inspired by my life experiences.
In the year 2003, I moved to Horomerice, Prague, the Czech Republic. It is a small village on the outskirts of Prague, a beautiful place, snow-laden and full of wildlife. It seemed as if nature bestowed its best at this place. This was a dream place and my house, warm and cosy as it could be. My husband had a high-paying secure job. We were happy and comfortable in this place.
Four years later, i.e., in 2008, I was on a vacation, visiting my parents in Mumbai, India. My husband came home quite worried and declared that he had lost his job. His words made my heart sink. His anxiety, sadness, disbelief, and shock depicted his crushed confidence. This also meant that we would have to return to India from my dream place. This loss was not only a financial and a residential loss; for us, it meant something more.
My husband, Vikram, belonged to a family where his father worked in the Indian army and had given the best education and lifestyle he could to his children. But Vikram lost his dad early in a road accident. At that time, Vikram, who was still studying, had to share the additional responsibility of his three unmarried sisters with his mother. Responsibility creates ‘need.’ Unlike his father, Vikram decided to become a banker instead of serving in the army, so that he would never face scarcity of income.
Hence, that day, the loss of job was not only the loss of job for Vikram but also the loss of a dream. He lost himself in the darkness of pain, anger, and self-pity. This shock froze all of us in time, of not having enough resources and security for our future.
Before leaving Prague, an opportunity to learn META-Health knocked at my door. I learnt META-Health, and this is how my journey as a healer started.
During my stay in the Czech Republic, I had begun working as a Reiki master and teaching various healing techniques to others, but the knowledge of such techniques still left me incomplete, urging me to find a more complete and sound knowledge of alleviating human suffering. This gap was filled with the knowledge of META-Health.
I have been blessed with loving mentors from the field of META-Health, NES, EFT, Matrix Reimprinting, Sound Healing, Colour Therapy, family constellations, hypnotherapy, art therapy, ACE, and many others.
My journey with META-Health and integrating all other therapies with this modality made me realise that if I could heal myself, I could actually heal others too. Today, I am the chairlady and communication officer for META-Health International, a Sales and Distribution head and trainer for NES-Health Information Technology in India, and a Master-trainer for META-Health, Matrix-Reimprinting, Hypnotherapy, Colour Therapy, Sound Healing, and Advanced Clearing Energetics. I have also been an author and speaker at several national and international events. I have had the pride to host an international conference on META-Health in 2017 in Mumbai.
My ongoing education has given me the opportunity to connect with my passion and helped me overcome my conflicts as well as carve my future as per my wishes. All this while, the Universe has stood by my side. Hence, my reciprocation to the Universe is called for. I have dedicated myself to helping people who suffer from trauma and counselling them on how best they can deal with the internal demons that prevent them from enjoying a full life.
Tell us something about your life and your journey to becoming a healer.
I find it very difficult to call myself a healer. I truly believe that people heal themselves, I just assist them in their journey to wellness.
My journey to helping people in the true sense began when I was 40 years old. One night, I woke up from deep sleep, drenched in cold sweat. I felt as if the world around me was crumbling. Images of my earlier abuse and trauma began clouding my mind. Something had triggered and made me remember incidents that I had repressed long ago. It seemed to be the worst possible time for the memories to come back and haunt me. I was happily married, and my children were in school. I was settled and comfortable. That day, I realised that I should heal myself and then heal others. I healed my past traumas and embarked on my journey to empower others to heal themselves. My main motivation today is to get people to overcome their demons and accept their internal divinity. Having been a victim of child abuse myself and having experienced how the loss of a job could devastate families, I understand the need to discuss and bring such topics out in open forums. It is an uphill battle. I still remember that at an event, when I said I wanted to talk about child sexual abuse, only a few people turned up to listen to me.
I have been getting constant support from my husband, family, and friends and above all, the Universe. I express deep gratitude to those who have helped me. Last but not least, I acknowledge myself for being ‘ME.’
Your workshop’s name is ‘Soul Work’ through META-Health. Could you explain what you mean by ‘Soul Work’?
All of us have taken birth on this earth to serve a purpose. ‘Soul Work’ means recognising one’s life purpose and moving ahead to achieve it.
I feel that conflicts are stepping stones towards finding our life purpose, though they may prick us at times. Pain is experienced when we do not accept our experiences as opportunities for learning. Being in a constant state of bliss is not possible; this Universe is ever-changing. Pain is not negative; it creates the passion and the hunger to achieve.
The Buddha gained ‘enlightenment’ after he saw an old crippled man, a sick man, a dead man, and a holy man. The Buddha then understood the meaning of suffering and decided to give up worldly pleasures to find in the true meaning of his existence and life. If he had not seen all those negative sights, we would not have had the blessing of having the Buddha walk with us as the wayshower. Similarly diseases help us in seeing the possibility of taking self-responsibility and re-creating health and wisdom.
What have been your major breakthroughs as a healer of difficult diseases? Can you share some examples?
I have been able to assist people in dealing with mental orders, sexual abuse, cancers, and various other diseases, relationships, and money issues.
A highly successful man from the glamour world had suffered from depression after the death of a loved one. He quit his job and confined himself to his room for two and a half years. I worked with him two years ago, and since then, he has been actively participating in work and pleasure.
An adolescent child came to me for self-reproach issues because her father could not support her desire to study outside India. Out of frustration, she had slashed her wrists with sharp objects many times. She had also missed her periods for six months and had hair on the chin. All her issues were solved with META-Health and she became a top ranker in the entrance exam. She is now studying in a reputed university abroad on scholarship.
What has been your greatest learning as a healer?
Our biggest nightmare can be our biggest blessing.
I learnt that life is not perfect, and so-called negative times, bad times, or unfair times are just our perception as we are gripped with fear, not knowing how to deal with the situation. All we need is to have patience and the Universe will hold our hand lovingly and teach us to transform pain into opportunities and wisdom.
I was bitten by a dog at the age of eight. Hence, I have been very scared of dogs all my life. To overcome this fear, I have adopted a beautiful pup, Luna. Training her has given me lots of patience and insight into animal instinct, which is quite similar to human behaviour. I have learnt to hug, play, love, and sleep with my fear; as a result, my inhibitions have dropped and a whole new dimension and new opportunities have opened up for me. I feel that I can manage unimaginable situations and bigger challenges with ease.
My grandmother used to tell me, “What has to happen, will happen. We don’t have a choice about the situation, but the choice to deal with the situation is entirely ours. We can deal with the horrendous situation either with a broad smile or with fear, sadness, and anxiety. The choice is ours.”
After I experienced a silent heart attack three years ago, I realised that lots of people take life for granted and think that they have all the time in the world to make things happen for them. I have stopped taking life for granted. I enjoy each day, each moment, and live it truly to the fullest. This is my greatest learning.
