Mission fit India
Living in a polluted environment and consuming large doses of stress on a daily basis leaves a lot to be desired with regards to one’s overall health. To address this problem Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd (PAL) has partnered with radio stations Fever FM, FTC, and My FM to launch the country’s first fitness and wellness campaign ‘Mission Fit India.’ The launch took place on June 4, in New Delhi.
Sharing his view on fitness, PAL founder Baba Ramdev said, “Like a coin, health also has two aspects: Body and mind. Yog is the only practice that creates a bond between body and mind. The Mission Fit India campaign is all about holistic wellness.” Co-campaigner and one of the experts onboard, Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty said, “Fitness is an area in our country that requires a lot of concerted effort. This campaign will blur the rigidity that people have about fitness that it concerns only the elite. The aim is to simplify fitness for every citizen of this country.”
This mission will be a 120-day fitness programme which will challenge the misconception that getting healthy is complex, time-consuming, and arduous. The campaign has been divided into four phases spread over 120 days. Phase one is ‘Fit basics’: a three-week programme that aims to bust myths related to fitness. The second phase, ‘Suniel ki Sena’: a six-week programme steered by Suniel Shetty and his team, will see the actor turn fitness coach to guide and address individual queries. Another six-week programme, ‘Fitness wars,’ forms the third leg of the mission. It aims to engage masses from different cities in a fitness challenge. The final phase will be the finale, scheduled to take place on September 10.
The mission is supported by 21 experts, whose names will unravel gradually. The programme will be aired daily across 13 Fever FM cities and 30 My FM cities, and will be accompanied by various ground activists taking the cumulative reach of this campaign up to a staggering figure of 220 million people across the country.
