The second wave of COVID is still continuing, and everyone is horrified by the deadly disease. Even after recovering from COVID, the lingering after-effects are proving to be troublesome. Post-COVID debility, weakness, prolonged infection, and now, mucormycosis, or black fungus, is threatening COVID survivors. Let us discuss these issues below.
Post-COVID debility and prolonged infection
After recovery from COVID, one can feel drained, lethargic, tired, and even sad. Though the human body fights the virus well and disinfects itself, the fight takes its toll: the body and its systems become weak. The second reason for the weakness is the deficiency of the lungs and the respiratory system. To expedite recovery from post-COVID weakness, practise the following mudras:
Prithvi Mudra
Practise this mudra for 30 minutes, thrice a day. Sit in a comfortable position on a chair or a sofa. Touch the tip of the ring finger to the tip of the thumb. Keep the remaining three fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
This mudra accelerates the process of regeneration of the dying cells. It helps to increase the level of vitamin bio-availability and the strength of the body.
Varun Mudra
Practise this mudra for 16 minutes, thrice a day. Sit in a comfortable position on a chair or sofa. Touch the tip of the little finger to the tip of the thumb. Keep the remaining three fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
Due to the aggressive medication, the Water Element in the body reduces. This dehydration results in weakness. Varun Mudra increases the Water Element in the body.
Aadi Mudra
Practise this mudra for 16 minutes, thrice a day. Touch the tip of the thumb to the root of the little finger. Wrap the remaining four fingers over the thumb to form an enveloping fist. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs. Breathe deep.
This mudra directs oxygen to the brain.
Fuffus Mochan Mudra
Practise this mudra for 16 minutes, thrice a day. Touch the tip of the little finger to the root of the thumb, touch the tip of the ring finger to the midline of the thumb, and touch the tip of the middle finger to the tip of the thumb. Keep the index finger straight and stretched. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
This mudra is considered very beneficial for the health of the lungs. Even during the treatment of COVID, it is seen that people practising this mudra recover faster.
Prana Mudra
If there is no cough, practise this mudra for 16 minutes, thrice a day. Touch the tips of the ring finger and the little finger to the tip of the thumb. Keep the remaining two fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
This is the best mudra for boosting immunity.
Mucormycosis
This is the scary and dreadful fungal infection seen in COVID patients due to steroid treatment and weakened immunity. It spreads rapidly, affecting the cavities in the body. It can be fatal and hence, this infection is considered a medical emergency. Though not tested yet, the following mudras can be helpful in this condition.
Aakash Mudra
Practise this mudra for 16 minutes, thrice a day before sunset. Touch the tip of the middle finger to the tip of the thumb. Keep the remaining three fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
This mudra helps to clear the blockage and the infection in cavities like the sinuses, the cranial cavity, the tympanic cavity, the buccal cavity, the lungs, and the heart. It eliminates the side effects of steroids.
Fuffus Mochan Mudra
Practise this mudra for 16 minutes, thrice a day.
Apan Mudra
Practise this mudra for 30 minutes, twice or thrice a day. Touch the tips of the ring finger and middle finger to the tip of the thumb. Keep the remaining two fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
This mudra removes toxins from the body, improves the functionality of the liver, the intestines, and the pancreas, and also eliminates the side effects of steroids.
Prana Mudra
Practise this mudra for 16 minutes, thrice a day.
