Managing blood pressure with Mudras
Abhay Kumar Shah recommends three mudras to regulate your blood pressure
Diabetes and blood pressure problems are risky diseases that people are commonly afflicted with. Every third Indian adult suffers from blood pressure trouble. Though it is considered a disease, it is actually a symptom and not the disease itself. The causes range from emotional imbalance and stress to an imbalance in sodium and potassium levels in the blood, excessive salt consumption, and cholesterol deposition in the blood vessels.
To manage this, Mudra Science suggests the following mudras:
JNANA MUDRA
Jnana Mudra reduces the stress level, maintains positivity of the mind, and corrects the function of the pineal gland, which controls the levels of sodium and potassium in the body.
Formation
Touch the tip of the thumb to the tip of the index finger. Keep the remaining three fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
Practise for 48 minutes at a stretch or 16 minutes thrice a day.
VYAAN MUDRA
Vyaan Mudra regulates the pressure of the blood. If the pressure is low, Vyaan Mudra raises it; if it is high, Vyaan Mudra reduces it.
Formation
Touch the tip of the thumb to the tips of the index finger and the middle finger.
Keep the remaining two fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
Practise for 48 minutes followed by Prana Mudra for 16 minutes at a stretch.
Never practise Vyaan Mudra after sunset as it can disturb your sleep.
SURYA MUDRA
Surya Mudra reduces the cholesterol levels in the blood vessels.
Formation
Touch the tip of the ring finger to the root of the thumb and place the front of the thumb on the back of the ring finger. Keep the remaining three fingers comfortably straight. Place the back of your palms on your knees or thighs.
Practise for 16 minutes thrice a day.
It is important that you consume more than the normal quantity of liquids on the days that you practise Surya Mudra.
To conclude, apart from practising the above mudras, always find something which will give you happiness. Keep stress at bay, eat healthy food, and exercise regularly.
