In Ayurveda, body, mind, and consciousness work together in maintaining the balance? They are simply different facets of a human being. To learn how to balance body, mind, and consciousness requires an understanding of how Vata, Pitta and Kapha work together. According to Ayurvedic philosophy, the entire cosmos is an interplay of the energies of the five basic elements.
It is the combination of these 5 elements and their ratios that determine the nature of everything in this existence.
Additionally, when there is an imbalance in either the body or the mind, it is usually due to disharmony between these 5 elements in the body.

The entire system of Ayurveda is based on 5 elements also known as 'Pancha-tattva'. Vata, Pitta and Kapha are combinations of the five elements that manifest as patterns in all creation. Moreover, we inherit the dosha type which we have in our body, from our parents.
If you have a Vata type of body, then it means that your predominant elements are Air and Space. They are generally lean and active, it's difficult for a Vata type person to sit alone in one place. Similarly, their mind also possesses the same properties. Also, they have a hard time maintaining focus and concentration. The digestion of this category of individuals is not good and their diet is not in balance.
If you have a Pitta type of body, then it means that your predominant elements are Fire and Water. This category of people gets irritated quickly. They are generally healthy and muscular. They have anger management issues. In contrast, they are also polite in nonhostile situations.
If you have a Kapha type of body, then it means that your predominant elements are Earth and Water. They are generally plump and inactive. Also, they sleep very well and have a very slow pace in both action and thinking.
An Ayurvedic practitioner identifies your body type and then recommends corresponding changes in diet, exercise, and meditation. He/she may also prescribe some effective ayurvedic medicines accordingly.
Ayurvedic medicine is the combination of naturally occurring herbs, minerals, metals, plant extracts and seed extracts. The primary reason behind the consumption of Ayurvedic medicine is that the body digests them easily.
Unlike naturally occurring substances, there are several merits and demerits of chemical and synthetic medicines. For minor illnesses, then consumption of these medicines are relatively not harmful. However, for chronic disorders, ingesting chemicals into the body for a long period of time is not worth consuming and hence, should be prohibited.
In ancient texts on Ayurveda, thousands of real formulation were written that could cure different tentative as well as chronic diseases.
Medicines are prescribed to an individual depending on his/her body type. For example, if a patient has a weak immune system, even allopathic medicines will work slowly. Also, the degree of recovery depends on how his/her body reacts to the dose of the medicines.
Everything on this earth has a defined shelf life. Just like any other medicines, Ayurvedic medicines have an expiry date too.
Since there are nearly half a million combinations of Ayurvedic formulations, it is highly recommended to consult an experienced and qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before buying Ayurvedic medicine.
