By Life Positive March 2012 Masters, healers, soothsayers and seekers all came together on a single platform to disseminate the message of love, positivity and oneness in the world at the seventh Life Positive Expo concluded in Delhi recently The event that all LP enthusiasts look forward to the year-round, the annual Life Positive Expo, got off to a flying start as visitors, delegates and loyal readers from all over India and abroad converged at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on 27, 28 and 29 January this year to celebrate the spirit of wholistic living.People thronged to listen to spiritual speakers like BK Shivani, and Swami Nikhilananda, attend esoteric workshops, and made a beeline to the exhibition stalls to have their signatures analysed, get pranic healing, or to get messages from their guardian angel. Through it all, the life-transforming techniques and insights and the experiential understanding imparted, left the participants in a glow of spiritual enthusiasm. Says trainer and facilitator, Rajagopalan Sreekumar, “I had an amazing blessed time filled with learning, insights, information, meditative experiences, prayers, healing, laughter, soulful music, amazing experiences.” Babbu Gill, a Louise Hay trainer from Chandigarh, says, “I reached home, empowered, inspired, and stand in gratitude to all who participated in making this spiritual expo such a memorable experience.”Day 1In her inaugural address, Sister Shivani of the Brahma Kumari fame untied several knots in the complicated lives of her listeners by her insightful discourse on relationships. Commenting on the anguish and pain that relationships often give, Shivani said that the core cause was the poor relationship people had with themselves, and because they did not consider others to be part of their wider self. She said that the primary cause of any conflict in a relationship is the presumption that the other is wrong, but if one were to put oneself in their shoes one would find that they had their reasons. Shivani said that guilt was the biggest problem that afflicted the human soul. When people commit mistakes, they wallow in guilt, and flog themselves with the whip of self-accusatory thoughts. By giving constant attention to the negative and overlooking the positive in them they end up feeding the same weakness they want to overcome and repeat the behaviour at the next opportunity. “Guilt is nothing but anger turned inward,” she said. When a person is angry with himself he blocks the passage of positive thoughts that arise within his heart and creates disharmony in his environment,” she explained. She urged people to be forgiving of not only other’s faults but also of their own. “Try and recognise signs of poor emotional health such as jealousy, bitterness, frustration, and anger and be as forbearing with them as you would be with somebody suffering from poor physical health,” she said. Her wise words and peaceful appearance powerfully upped the positivity quotient of the Expo. The workshops for Day 1 included Past-life Regression using Parallel Realities by Dr Yuvraj Kapadia, The Power of Numbers by Seema Middha and Handwriting analysis and Handwriting therapy by Mansee Vashist.Past-life Regression using Parallel Realities Dr Yuvraj Kapadia, in his inimitable flamboyant style, waxed eloquent on the scientific basis of the existence of past life, parallel realities and the phenomena of split souls. He said that many problems have their origin in the unresolved issues of a past life that keep knocking on our subconscious and make us react in a particular way to external stimulus even without our volition. Some people have huge phobias, react violently to perceived threats and insults, and suffer from chronic diseases that refuse to heal despite all medication. When such problems acquire enormous proportions and start affecting the life of the person, then regressing to past-life and finding and eliminating the root cause of the problem is the best way out. The workshop was kept alive by the good humour of the facilitator and active participation of the delegates who engaged Dr Yuvraj with pointed questions to further understand the concept. Showing how self-affirmations can help in healing, Dr Yuvraj healed the back pain of one participant. In the latter part of the workshop he facilitated a group regression and the participants reported amazing insights after it was over. One woman was able to unlock the cause of her present alcoholism after she rooted it back to suffering loneliness in past life. The Power of Numbers by Seema MiddhaSeema Middha’s half-day workshop on numerology had the audience clamouring with questions, all of which the good-humoured Seema answered. The heightened level of interest had to do with her subject, numerology, where through the use of what she calls the lo shu grid, our personality, problems and potential stood revealed! The lo shu grid consists of three columns and three rows 4 9 2 3 5 7 8 1 6 The sum of these three numbers calculated horizontally, vertically or angularly comes to 15. Each of these numbers stands for a planet. Taking our date of birth, we are then asked to insert our numbers into their respective places. If a number recurs more than once, we have to write it as many times as it recurs in its specific square. For instance, assuming your birth date to be 16.11.1970, your grid will look so 9 7 1111 6 We were then asked to calculate our psychic number which is the date of birth. In this case the number would be 7 (1+6) = 7. If the sum is in double digits such as when the birth date is 29 whose sum is 11, the two numbers are once again added to give the final number which in this case is 2 (1+1)Our kua number is the sum total of our year of birth. For females the number 4 is added to it. In the case of males the number 11 is deducted from it. In this case the sum of 1970 would come to 8. If the number belonged to the female sex the kua number would be 8+4 which is 12 which gives us the kua number of 3.If the number belonged to the male sex the kua number would be 8- 11 which would be -3, except that minus numbers are not taken into consideration and so the sum once again is 3. And finally our destiny number is the sum total of our date of birth plus month plus year. In this case the destiny number is 1970 + 16 +11 = 1+9+9+7 = 2+6 = 8 We were then enlightened on the qualities of each number starting from 1 to nine. One, which, incidentally, is Seema’s own psychic number, stands for courage, leadership and dynamism, 2 stands for sensitivity and intuition, 3 for joy, creativity and a philosophical bent of mind, 4 is logical, organised, systematic and orderly, 5 is balanced, friendly, helpful and energetic, 6 is responsible, generous, articulate and given to luxury, 7 is spiritual, creative, tolerant and energetic, 8 is hardworking, trustworthy and religious, 9 is bold, intellectual, determined and enthusiastic. She also explained the significance of what she calls arrows – i. e, when one’s grid has three numbers running either vertically or horizontally. For instance 2 7 6 Is the arrow of action and 9 5 1 Is the arrow of determination.Only if our grid has 4 ,7, 6, or 8 will we be interested in spirituality, she revealed. So readers check out your grids and understand yourself a shade better.Handwriting analysis & Handwriting therapyMansee Vashist’s workshop was truly a hands-on experience. She opined that our handwriting can reveal our strengths and weaknesses and is therefore useful for parents trying to understand their children, teachers their students, or employers their employees. The reason why handwriting is such a giveaway to our personality, she says, is because it comes directly from our subconscious mind. While what we write is dictated by our conscious mind, how we write is determined by our subconscious mind. Without further ado she plunged us into the second half of the workshop which was on graphotherapy, which deals with the tools we can use to improve the weaknesses in our handwriting and therefore improve not just our handwriting but our personality too. Crossing your ‘t’s and dotting your ‘i’s carry enormous weight. The letter t, she said, represented 14 characteristics depending on how we wrote it. If the horizontal line is only to the right, it displays a short temper and if it is to the left, lack of confidence. Not dotting your ‘I’s or doing it in a flyaway manner betrayed a lack of focus.Through the practice of various symbols which she herself has largely created, she helped us deal with stress management, anger, and to instil positivity, motivation, confidence, and intuition. Handwriting can also help us cultivate harmonious relationships. Launch of The Laughing Buddha BookThe day one of the Expo also saw the launch of The Laughing Buddha Book compiled and edited by editor Suma Varughese. The book is a compilation of the Laughing Buddha columns that have appeared in Life Positive magazine over the years. Speaking at the book launch, Swami Chaitanya Keerti, editor, Osho Time International, said that the perception of spirituality being a serious business was a fallacy. “Osho always said that seriousness was the cancer of the soul,” said Chaitanya Keerti. “Laughter dissolves seriousness and jokes are poison to the ego. It is liberating and a sure sign of your overflowing personality,” he added. Suma Varughese observed that one’s capacity to laugh is the measure of one’s life force. “When a person goes through depression the first thing to vanish is laughter, ” she said. Swati Chopra, author and panellist, said that true humour is the abil
