The high energy of Mount Shasta, the root chakra of the earth, has transformed her life, says Shivapriya Harlalka
Sometime in May 2011, I happened to see a picture of Mount Shasta with the words, ‘Root Chakra’ imprinted on it, on a friend’s Facebook page. I was intrigued. A Google search revealed that Mount Shasta in California, with its many vortices, waterfalls, high-energy indigenous underground openings, and caves, is indeed the root chakra of the earth. In a flash, I had a strong urge to visit the place. With my birthday just round the corner, I asked my husband for a trip to Mount Shasta as my birthday gift. To my surprise, he readily agreed.
That international trip that I undertook to the USA, all alone, for the very first time without my family, changed my life forever.
Life-changing journey
Though I have pursued spirituality for more than 15 years now, the incredible surge in spiritual energy, which I experienced on my trip there, has firmly placed me on the spiritual path.

So incredible and life-changing has been the journey that I am now escorting a bunch of spiritual seekers to Mount Shasta in May, for their own intense cleansing and healing experience.
My own trip just fell in place, with the help of a Facebook friend, staying in San Francisco, who handled the logistics to perfection.
As soon as I landed there, I learnt that my friend was doing her Light Activation Healing System workshop at Mount Shasta on my birthday itself. When she gifted the workshop to me, I could not have asked for a better start. Today I am not only India’s first Light Activation Healing practitioner, but also their regional director in India.
A homecoming
I am a firm believer in past lives, and while there, I realised why I felt this incredible pull towards this place. During meditations, I have seen many past lives in Mount Shasta and so a visit here has been like a homecoming to me.
In its high-energy vortex, I underwent numerous intense experiences. In the Peace Garden, I experienced a tremendous amount of release as several blockages were cleared, and my true life purpose was revealed.
Mount Shasta is also high on heart energy, and I therefore experienced many breakthroughs in relationships, as I learnt to handle my emotions better. One of the biggest challenges in my spiritual growth has been my anger, which has consumed me in the past. But after all the healing and the cleansing in Mount Shasta, anger is no more a conflicting emotion in my life and relationships.
At Mount Shasta, I became aware of the star consciousness and the presence of aliens. I felt the presence of angels, and ancient Indian saints there. I was enveloped with the energies of Mother Mary and Shakti. During my explorations in Mount Shasta, I came across a book describing the ancient Lemurians, who, along with the Atlanteans, are considered to have reached the heights of civilisation, before both perished about 12,000 years ago. Lemurians are believed to have built the city of Telos under Mount Shasta, before they sank in the Pacific Ocean. They are believed to be alive in the fifth dimension, and those visiting Mount Shasta, including me, have had visions of the Lemurians, which is what prompted me to dig into history for information available on them.
In the pristine, white mountains there, I also learnt not to be judgmental, and to imbibe the values of forgiveness and unconditional love, all of which has completely changed my being.
My spiritual journey began in college, when I prayed to Lord Shiva for more than seven years to help me marry my college sweetheart – despite my orthodox Brahmin family’s opposition. Thankfully, my prayers were eventually answered. My husband has since supported me strongly in my quest.
Energised by Mount Shasta, I also intend visiting the other chakras of the earth such as Lake Titicaca, Peru, in Bolivia – the sacral or the swadhisthana chakra, Uluru, and Kaka Tjuta in the northern territory of Australia – the solar plexus or the Manipur chakra. Others include Glastonbury and Shaftesbury in England – the heart or the anahata chakra, the Great Pyramid of Mount Sinai in the Mount of Olives, Egypt – the throat or the vishuddha chakra, Khuh-e-malek Siah, tri-point of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan – the third eye or the Ajna chakra, and Mount Kailash – the crown or the sahasrara chakra. My pilgrimage is on!
