The Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV) system of healing was systematically compiled and presented by the founder, Shri N Jayachander Reddy, in the year 2013, (after he served in Indian Air Force for more than two decades) under the guidance of his spiritual teacher. He integrated the ancient spiritual knowledge and the Various teachings of Spiritual masters into the present form of YPV, which has been adopted by various sections of people across India.
The institute aims to create a more spiritual world through self-purification, yogic Physical and breathing excercises, and meditation. Mr Reddy has healed many people including critical cases during his tenure in Ladakh, where people, sometimes, could not get help during medical emergencies.
Rishi Rathod reports.
The Eastern civilisation has a history of knowing many alternative and complementary therapies to accelerate recovery from various ailments. The ancient science of healing the energy body was prevalent in various civilisations, religions, and cultures, and the teachings are universal. India, China, and Tibet were proficient in the use of these therapies, but the true knowledge of these teachings got obscured over time.
Today, most people are disillusioned by the empty materialism driving modern society. Numerous individuals are now questioning whether it is possible to pursue spirituality while being in the material world. Is there a way to lead a balanced life? Could holistic healing be taught as an established science? How can one find a group where like-minded people can share their journey and get supported in their spiritual growth? Can meditation provide answers to all our questions?
Many people started asking these questions after they experienced a breakthrough in the treatment of their ongoing physical ailment. One such story is of Wing Commander NJ Reddy, who, back in 1994, was in search of a cure for his migraine. For Wing Commander Reddy (a post graduate from IIT, who served in the Indian Air Force), the recurrent episodes of migraine were excruciatingly painful and unbearable. He tried many different modalities, including acupressure, but without lasting results. When he came across a workshop on energy healing through prana (life force), he decided to try it out and explore the possibilities.
Miracle healing
After learning the principles of treating the chakras (energy centres) and the aura (energy field around the body) to aid rapid recovery from physical and psychological ailments, he decided to practise it on others so that whenever his episode of migraine recurred, he would be able to heal himself. To his surprise, one day, he realised that even a year after the workshop, his migraine attacks had not recurred. “It’s in healing that you get healed.” This quote got stuck in his mind, and he grasped the amazing potency of the science of energetic transformation. Thereafter, he set out on his spiritual mission, and with the blessings of Buddha Padmasambhava, consolidated the work and teachings of various spiritual masters and teachers over the ages, into Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV).
Here, the structure is clearly laid down. At the top of the pyramid is the mentor and guru, Reddyji, under whom are 14 Arhat trainers directly trained by him. (The word ‘arhat’ comes from the Buddhist tradition, and it simply means the one who is able to correctly discern between dharma and adharma (righteousness and unrighteousness) and move on the path of the former. So, an ARHAT trainer is a person who is discerningly practising to be on the path of righteousness, which will finally lead them to union with the Paramatma, the Supreme Almighty.)
Each Arhat trainer has a group of approximately 50-60 trainers whom they train to become healers and trainers. Each trainer, in turn, teaches how to heal and trains newcomers in the YPV meditations and healing processes. At YPV, training in meditation and healing is an ongoing process, so everyone is continuously learning, teaching, and moving forward. At present, YPV has more than 100 centres across India, and gradually but steadily, they are increasing. More than 5 lakh people have undergone some kind of meditation and healing with YPV so far.
Lakshmi Dhevi, an electrical and electronics engineer, is now a full-time senior trainer with YPV in New Delhi. She recalls how she witnessed a transformation in 2004 by being an instrument for channelling healing energies to her mother, who had been diagnosed with gangrene. She says “I was extremely happy with the way I could help my mother using these energy transformation techniques. Honestly, it was the manifestation workshop in 2005 that got me deeply immersed in this art and science of subtle life force energy, and I decided to propagate these teachings as a trainer.”
Time and again, it was seen that all students felt empowered by the transformational science of healing through prana within just a few hours to two days of participating in the workshops. The aspiring students and seekers were able to increase their self-confidence through the immediate development of the ability to produce positive and measurable results. The practitioners begin to shift their old patterns of thinking to a higher plane. From the initial feelings of “helplessness” before the vicissitudes of life, the students learn to adapt to or transform the energies that are affecting various situations in their lives, resulting in gradual empowerment of their personalities.
A model recovery
Another inspiring story is of a former ramp model and celebrity manager from Mumbai, Girish Hemnani, who is presently a Life Coach in Dubai. He suffered numerous personal setbacks within a span of six weeks in 2010. He lost his job without any notice and met with an accident while riding a motorcycle, resulting in his becoming bed-ridden for a month. There were severe unsettling developments in his personal relationships too, and he was overwhelmed with hopelessness and despair and felt like a victim for no justifiable reason. The emotional exhaustion and a sense of lack of direction lead him to seek some help. Girish says, “In just one week of energy-healing sessions, I felt optimistic about life and my future. I wondered and enquired what brought about this shift. In response, four aspects were shared: thoughts and emotions are energy; our body heals itself; prana accelerates the healing process; and energy follows thought.”
Continuing further, he adds, “Unwholesome thoughts, emotions, and energies were released from the 11 major energy centres, also known as chakras, which brought about the needed transformation.” Amazed at the simplicity of these subtle techniques, Girish says, “When I experienced the shift through the energy healing sessions, I thought about how I could do much more by learning this. How many people can I personally uplift with this science of prana? I understood that there are endless possibilities with these techniques, and we all need them for our holistic well-being. In future, this science will play a big role in ensuring complete holistic well-being.” He attended the workshop in August 2010, and it filled him with the belief, confidence, and knowledge that even he—as a soul, as one of the smallest points of light in the Universe—could alter subtle and even physical matter materially, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. He exclaims, “What a liberating feeling this is! My complete focus changed from considering myself as weak and helpless to ‘what all I can do’ to transform the undesirable.”
Megha Gupta from New Delhi says, “I am glad to be a part of the YPV Healing and Arhat Yoga practices. This has opened up new horizons of hope and success in my life. I have already achieved what was possible. Now everything is possible. This energy-based healing system is the answer to each and every question and situation. It’s rightly said that when energy changes, everything changes.”
Scientific documentation
All these stories have a common underlying thread—the Yoga Prana Vidya organisation led by Shri NJ Reddy, who has healed and trained thousands of individuals. The growing community of YPV energy healers and trainers are collectively touching many lives. Appreciating the phenomenal effort put in by dedicated energy practitioners and the results they were producing, it was felt that the cases needed to be scientifically documented. This led to the formation of the YPV Research Team that documents the cases and has even published them in medical journals.
Every year, YPV organises a get-together in one of the cities, where thousands of YPV healers, trainers, and members come together to do group meditation and healing. The idea is simple. When thousands of people come together in one place to meditate and heal, the energy in that particular geographical region gets positively charged. It acts as an antidote to all the negativity surrounding that region and its people. This process helps to remove fear and insecurities from the lives of not only the participants but also the people residing in the nearby areas. This is the power of the yearly gathering for healing and meditation.
Lakshmi Dhevi says that many new students coming across this art and science of subtle prana are young and academically educated, but they wish to pursue the training and healing full time, in order to share the benefits with as many people as possible.
It is a sign of a rise in human consciousness that practitioners are beginning to realise that all human beings are of a certain degree of intelligence, love, and willpower, and possess the ability to change not only themselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, but also the world in which we live. An ever-increasing number of individuals are coming together to manifest their good intentions, and eventually, in the process, manifest their own greatness. The act of giving and empowering others, and supporting our loved ones in overcoming their shortcomings and vicissitudes of life is, indeed, an act of great compassion.
