You are never too old…… to live, says Megha Bajaj
You are never too old…
… To wonder upon a sky filled with stars. Move away, once in a while from Facebook, WhatsApp, mega serials, and just peep out from your window. Aha. The designs. The intricacy. The large-ness. The magnificence. Awe-inspiring, simply awe-inspiring.
… To lick a bowl of Maggi noodles clean. How much to think? How much to worry about what the other thinks of you? While the ‘other’ worries about what you think of them. Once in a while – let go. Just be. Lick to your heart’s content – doesn’t matter whether you are eight or 80. Lick.
It’s okay to cry. Whether you are a child, a CEO or a grandfather. Let it all out.
… To laugh out aloud. It’s your birthright. Feel the smile grow. Listen to the giggle. Let it become a chuckle. Roll on the floor with rumbling and tumbling laughter. No more Hee hee. Move to Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
… To cry and break down. Erase all those memories of people telling you crying is a sign of weakness. Once in a while, a good cry cleanses the heart like nothing else. When you were a child, you cried without thinking. You cried because it helped. Do not rob yourself of this freedom now. Cry. It’s okay to cry. Whether you are a child, a CEO or a grandfather. Let it all out.
… To sing under the shower. As you scrub your body, hum your favourite song. Use the soap as a mic, enjoy a little. Don’t make everything into such a chore. Such a routine. Live a little more – even when you are alone. Live a little more – especially when you are alone.
… To wear a colourful shirt. Who ever said there was an age for freedom of choice? An age to dress the way you want? An age to enjoy colours? If it gladdens your heart, do it. Let others whisper. Secretly they are probably wondering where you got the shirt from, and if they can get one too!
… To dance to your favourite tune. What is the Universe but one gigantic dance? The cells are dancing. The molecules are vibrating. The atoms are skipping. Consciousness is expanding. Movement is life. Stagnation is death. Dance a little, my friend, dance a little. Barefooted – stilettoes – whatever makes you happy.
… To hug someone you love. It’s so beautiful to feel the warmth of another being through a hug. It’s so beautiful how you find your eyes closing whenever you dissolve into an embrace. You feel the person, not with your eyes or your body, but with the entirety of your being. How beautiful it is.
… To dream. Whether you are just a young one – or someone in your ‘80s or ‘90s, dreams have no age. If you still have breath, you can keep dreaming. Either in the future, or through someone else – it is always a possibility to see your dreams come true. Never give up the ability to dream.
… To live. You deserve to feel alive every moment that you are alive. Don’t waste this beautiful life existing, worrying, comparing yourself to others and feeling you never measure up, feeling scared, regretting, hating… no, no, no. This life of yours is too precious. It is your Source’s gift unto you. Live. Really live.
You are never too old… to wonder upon a sky filled with stars. To lick a bowl of Maggi noodles clean. To laugh out aloud. To cry and break down. To sing under the shower. To wear a colourful shirt. To dance to your favourite tune. To hug someone you love. To dream. To live. You are never too old.
