If we only knew how much love flows through our cells for each other and for us, we would recognize that love is the secret to perfect health, says Professor BM He
Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own,” said Robert A. Heinlein, the popular American science fiction writer.
There is a new definition of health coming into prominence which is in contrast to the outdated Alma Ata definition which declares health to be ‘a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.’
The human body is immaterial – mental and spiritual – in the new quantum definition of physics, which has proved that energy is matter and vice verse (a duality). The human body is but a continuum of the human mind.
The solid looking outer gestalt (form) is just Shankara’s Maya. The inner gestalt, the whole body, is but a bundle of energy waves. The ancient concept of the human body as made up of organs which work in isolation has been proven a myth by the invention of the bio photon camera of Fritz-Albert Popp, a German physicist. The camera catches the photon light beams emitted by every single atom in our body. In another sense, the human body is a happy colony of 50 to one hundred trillion individual human cells, which for millions of years lived as independent organisms and are capable of living like that even now. They can be now visualized using the bio-photon camera. If the cells of the human body in the camera are in sync, one is healthy. If there is any illness, the cells will not be in sync. Future management strategies would involve resetting the disordered energy pattern of disease, using outside energy, both known and occult.
Let us see what our cells do in health and disease. Each cell has its own mind. It can breathe, live independently, digest food, excrete waste, and do all that we do as an organism. The mind of the cell is situated in its cell membrane (cell wall), which could hereinafter be called the mem-brain. Our cells love one another so much that if we by chance, hate any one else, our cells get confused. If that hatred continues for a long time, our cells might even start hating other cells of ours, which could be the beginning of autoimmune diseases. Ayurveda seems to have known this thousands of years ago, when it described the causes of diseases. Modern medicine has realized lately that hostility is the prime motivator of major killer diseases like heart attack, brain attack, and even cancer. Even in disease states, our cells love and help one another to recover from illness to the extent possible. This is done with the help of our inner healer, the immune system, assisted by the prime stress buster, the autonomic nervous system (aldosterone-angiotensin axis). In modern medicine, we call this process as remodeling. Let us see one example of that to understand remodeling better.
Heart attacks
When a person gets a heart attack (60 per cent of them die instantaneously even before pain comes due to electrical instability – the so-called sudden death syndrome), and if he survives, he either goes to hospitals, or is left at home to be looked after by his family doctor. Many of the latter used to survive without any help from the medical fraternity. In fact, a large study in Bristol-Sheffield in the 1960s showed that after a heart attack, the good risk people (those without cardiogenic shock) are better off left at home, rather than being shifted to coronary care units in noisy ambulances. In what way do our heart muscle cells help recovery under such circumstances?
When one gets a heart attack, four things happen.
1) The heart muscle cells in the center of the infract die (cell death).
2) Immediately, the neighboring cells slip to fill that dead cell’s gap (cell slipping).
3) The fiberoblasts holding the cell in the wall feel that there is need for help, and they produce plenty of fibres to bind the slipped cells (fiberoblastic proliferation).
4) The heart muscle cells at a distance, which cannot slip try to become stronger (hypertrophy).
These four changes are modulated through the autonomic nervous system. The whole process is called remodeling. In the distant past, our ancestors used to survive not one but many heart attacks, thanks to their autonomic nervous system. One wonders at the affection that exists between our body cells, which help one another under any emergency. In fact, external help in an acute heart attack set up might do more harm than good, as our sheet anchor of treatment in the post infract period is to knock off the autonomic nervous system with beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors, and receptor blockers!
Therefore, love all to live well.
“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind.” William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
