Training the trainers through and with hypnotherapy
Carrying the family tradition especially when it is unusual is something very few of us do. So it is wonderful to hear about people like B Kumar. His journey as shared with Jamuna Rangachari
The incredible potential of the human mind always fascinated me. I was drawn to understand how the subconscious shapes our life, emotions, and actions. Over 61 years ago, this curiosity turned into a calling. I chose to dedicate my life to helping people heal, transform, and empower themselves through the science of hypnotherapy, mind programming, and holistic healing.
One of the biggest challenges was breaking the myths and misconceptions surrounding hypnotherapy. Many people associated it with superstition, magic, or entertainment. It took decades of dedication, live demonstrations, free public lectures, and awareness campaigns across schools, colleges, and communities to educate people and establish hypnotherapy as a respected scientific practice. Through patience, persistence, and consistent results, we earned trust and recognition.
There have been many memorable moments in this long journey. Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award twice was deeply fulfilling. But the most cherished memory remains the 50th-year celebration of our organization, where my father, my son, and I were jointly honored—a proud moment recognizing three generations dedicated to healing and service. It was not just an award but a symbol of our shared vision and lifelong commitment.
My greatest inspiration has always been my father, Shri Popatlal M. Shah. A visionary in his own right, he laid the foundation for my journey into the world of hypnotherapy and holistic healing. His unwavering belief in the power of the mind and his dedication to helping others deeply influenced my path. Even today, his legacy continues to guide me in my mission.
have been incredibly fortunate to have the full support of my family throughout my journey. From the early days of struggle to the present, their encouragement has been my anchor. They not only stood by me but also actively participated in the mission. Today, with three generations—my father, myself, and my son—dedicated to this cause, our work has truly become a family legacy.
