In the current times, there is too much negativity and stress. Some are external but most are internal and created by our own self. In this context, I remember my late mother in law who laughed away all the issues she faced in life and made us laugh too. Till today, she is a role model not just for me but to all those who have come in touch with her. This is how we all must seek to be for joy and laughter can indeed be created by us without any embargo. The only hitch is our own sorrow that very often clings on to us like glue. This is something we must learn to discard. It may take some time to do but is indeed possible.

Remaining joyful can be a rewarding but sometimes challenging pursuit. Here are some strategies that might help:

  1. Gratitude: Regularly acknowledging and appreciating the good things in your life can shift your focus from what's missing to what's present. Keeping a gratitude journal or simply taking a moment each day to reflect on what you're thankful for can help.

  2. Mindfulness and Presence: Practicing mindfulness helps you stay grounded in the present moment rather than getting caught up in worries about the future or regrets about the past. Techniques like meditation, deep breathing, or simply paying attention to your surroundings can enhance your sense of joy.

  3. Pursue Passions: Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, whether they're hobbies, creative pursuits, or spending time with loved ones. Doing what you love can elevate your mood and sense of purpose.

  4. Healthy Relationships: Surround yourself with supportive, positive people. Strong, healthy relationships can provide emotional support and contribute significantly to your overall happiness.

  5. Physical Well-being: Taking care of your body through regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate rest can impact your mood and energy levels positively.

  6. Acts of Kindness: Helping others and engaging in acts of kindness can create a sense of connection and purpose, enhancing your own sense of joy.

  7. Setting Realistic Goals: Having goals and working towards them can provide motivation and a sense of accomplishment. These need to be achievable and aligned with your values.

  8. Embrace Challenges: Viewing challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles can help maintain a positive outlook. This is a key to navigating life's ups and downs.

  9. Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself. Recognize that it's okay to have bad days and that your worth isn't tied to your productivity or achievements. Self-compassion helps you bounce back from setbacks more easily.

  10. Laugh and Play: Incorporate fun and humor into your life. Laughter is a natural mood booster and can help you stay light-hearted and joyful.

Remember, joy is a journey, not a destination. It’s normal for feelings of joy to ebb and flow, but by incorporating these practices into your life, you can create a more consistent sense of happiness. This shall make us create more moments of joy as everything in life does often multiply geometrically with our attitude.
