Seeing divinity all around
We are sent by the divine to planet earth to find and fulfil a purpose in life. This may not be told to us but is revealed in the journey of our lives for life is indeed the best school of all.
My mother passed away when I was just two. She died from unknown causes but I have found so many loving people who mothered me that I have understood and felt her presence all around me. This I certainly attribute to a divine power who ensured I always felt loved and wanted in the journey of my life. Perhaps my purpose was to find divinity through motherly love all around. We all are shaped by our challenges and therefore do feel alone if we don’t understand that there is a purpose behind every challenge. When we are able to understand this, nothing ever daunts us but only adds strength through every step that we take. In my case, though I did not have a physical mother with me, the divine became my mother who would correct and guide me in various forms.
Great people
It is not that great people don’t have challenges, Many do. They become great not because of the challenge but how they faced it. Helen Keller could have remained morose as she was blind, deaf and dumb. She did not start seeing physically but created a world of inner beauty by doing all that she could as she knew the divine was always with her. Another example of such a remarkable person is John Nash, an American mathematician who had acute paranoid schizophrenia. His life, struggles and success is known to us thanks to the film "A Beautiful Mind." Aware of his illness, he fought against it and had a successful academic career. He even won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994.
There are many others too. However it is not only celebrities but ordinary people around us that also show us the power of faith and divinity. I have seen thousands of physically impaired people going to various spiritual places despite their challenges to convey not despair but gratitude and hope. An acclaimed singer in the Hindi heartland, Surdas was born blind but wrote more hymns and songs than many perfectly able people. Till today, he is remembered by many in India both for his music prowess and bhakti or surrender to a higher power.
If there is something we all have eqaully is access to a divinity. When we wish to connect with everyone physically in the global world, should we not also connect within to connect with a higher power that shows us a divine world and also makes us find our purpose in life ? With mental health being mentioned as a concern even by the World Health organisation, connecting to a higher power definitely makes sense.
Connecting within automatically leads us to paths that are positive and have a divine purpose. For, the fact is like minded people do get connected. If we are pure, we will find other pure people. This is the design of the universe. Let us all follow a path that leads us to other pure people. If we do this, whether we become celebrities in the external world, we shall be celebrities in ‘our’ world and by extension, that could lead to a better world everywhere. For, the world is indeed created by such mini worlds. When everyone sees divinity, there would be no place for vices and evil people. Using a popular ditty, “we are the world” so let us create one that is powerful because of its divinity and therefore filled with a positive, divine power.
