Women's Day 2019: What Would Men Do On This Special Day?

As Women's Day 2019 is approaching, suddenly all the focus will be on women. Around the world, there will be talks on the human female species, awards will be arranged for women achievers, and more.

But, does anybody tell men what to do on this day?

Of course, they take the women in their lives out for dinner, present them gifts, and do things for them that make them happy. But, sorry for my directness, these things have almost become a ritual. Don't you think?

Women's Day 2019: Tips for men

Let's make this Women's Day different. Let's not just stop at gifts and eating out.

This is for all the men out there, who wish to do something different from what they have been doing all these years on this day.

Before that, I want to ask men a few questions. Are you one of them, who:

• Asks his mother out only on Women's Day?
• Take care of your mother's/wife's/girlfriend's/daughter's needs and dreams only on this day?
• Pay attention to your wife only on this day and then go back to your 'normal' self?
• Condemn this day?

Yes, there are men who hate this day!

They don't like the attention given to the opposite sex on this day. Well, I hardly have to say anything for them because they, sadly, are forgetting the Universal balance of masculine and feminine energy.

If you do one of the above, then you need to change...just a bit.

I will tell you in just one sentence:

The way you take care of the females in your life on Women's Day 2019, do the same for them throughout the day.

Why so fuss about Women's Day 2019?

I believe all days are about women and men. In the Hindu Vedas, Shiv and Shakti are never taken as separate entities. Shiv and Shakti are one. They are merged. They are balanced.

So, where there is Shiv, there is Shakti. Where there is Shakti, there has to be Shiv.

Time to see men and women in a new light

There will be no need of celebrating gender-specific days when you start seeing each other as Divine energies. Men should see women as a form of Divine feminine energy and women should see men as Divine masculine energy.

Both energies should respect each other - their qualities and their core nature.

If this happens, we won't need International Women's Day in India. Nor will we need Men's Day (which falls on November 19 - yes, there is Men's Day too!)

This Women's Day 2019, I ask all men to introspect the following:

How do you see your mother?

She is the first woman in your life. You respect her. You consider her Divine. She is the world for you. Your existence is due to her. A man may dislike women, but he always has reverence for his mother.

Alas, but there are still men, who leave their mothers in old-age homes or neglect them in the house once they are married and achieve success in life.

One thing I have seen in all these years of my life that a man who respects and loves his mother also respects womankind as a whole. He will respect and care for his wife, sister, and all women who come into his life. So, if you want to know how a man feels for a woman, see how he treats his mother and other females in the house.

How do you see your wife or girlfriend?

The day you see your wife as a Divine being who has entered your life to create a family with you and be your pillar of support, the world would need no Women's Day 2019 or women's campaigns or things like these.

A woman is a creator. She creates new life. When a creator comes into your life it is bound to change like a wonder. Of course, quarrels happen between couples. However, there is a way of quarreling. I have seen men beat their wives and consider them no more than doormats. Guys, please change this attitude. No woman is a doormat. She is Divine energy, so are you.

How do you see your sister?

Just because you are a man does not mean your sister is lesser in any way than you. The Almighty has given brains to both. Yes, she can do maths; she can play with guns, climb trees, indulge in outdoor sports, and take her own decisions. It is good to be protective of your sisters, but it is bad to restrict them in the name of protecting them.

Just like you protect your sister, protect her rights. And she has all the right to education, making her own decisions, clothes that she wears, sports that she indulges in, choosing her life partner, and others.

How do you see your female colleagues?

When your female colleagues speak for themselves they are not "aggressive," as labeled mostly by men. This is because men are conditioned (I don't know how they are conditioned like this) to think that females should be passive.

But, I want to ask all men: why do you think women should be passive? Does a lady's firm attitude make you insecure? If this is so, why? You are not less either. Both males and females are equal to a different set of qualities. Why do you feel threatened when a lady has the guts?

Again, I would say, consider the female form in front of you as Divine energy. We all are energies. At times, we are hyperactivated and, at times, hyperactivated.

So, guys, this Women's Day 2019, take a hard look at yourselves and ponder over how you are treating females in your lives. Whenever you feel tempted to think that you are superior or more powerful, always remember that you were born out of a female. Males would be extinct without females.
